Both and neither. In your nerdy world, nobody holds any real upper hand. Your life isn't really affected by the insults.

How about this though: You live in a world populated mostly by gay men and women. That seems to the the norm (we'll ignore the reproduction issues here). You yourself are heterosexual and would love to be accepted as such except that you can tell from your mates' "friendly banter" that to be straight, even though they all joke about it, is somehow a bit unacceptable. For a start, you keep hearing the phrase "That's so straight!"

So you keep quiet, a bit ashamed of being this deviant. This straight guy. You have to live you life in the shadows because it's just too much hassle to reveal your true sexuality.

But im gay mate.

Enough of this pontificating, has Rodgers not come out with some jarg about them winning the league since Saturday or is he too busy checking the job pages?

This is just another case of "footballers, stay the **** off Twitter", isn't it?

You're right mate, and it just goes to show that we unfortunately live in a world that's populated by f*cking idiots.

The advent of Youtube, social media and 24 hour news means that on top of CCTV every move by every person can be scrutinised to the nth degree by anybody.

And yet people are still caught making monkey gestures and saying disorderly & borderline racist things on Twitter every week, how stupid can you get? It's like me (working as a police officer) chinning someone on the street knowing that his mate is filming me on his iPhone.

You can possibly forgive some slack jawed yokel from the backwaters of Tamworth for not knowing what to say or what not to say, but Premiership footballers should at least be told by management that their every move will be analysed like a dodgy penalty on Match of the Day, but alas, some people just will not get the bloody message.

I have known/know plenty of gay people who have not been uptight about the 'That's so gay' comment, I am quite laid back and laugh with people taking the piss out of my beard, my weight, my accent, etc. so I would like to think that it would be the same in your hypothetical scenario above.

A couple of years back I was actually interested in this as me and mates used to say it all the time for a guy who wasn't going out. He laughed and said that he uses it in the same way all the time.

Like most words it is not offensive unless you mean it a truly offensive manner.

If nobody laughed at themselves from time to time there would be no humour in this world at all.

The tweet was pretty stupid.

"What [Poor language removed] is he doing? This guy is gay. He has some mental problems."

10k is a lot, where does the money go?

Didn't Damiano Tommasi successfully change the laws in Italian football soothe fines went to charities?

Be great to see something like that come in.

where are they getting the 16 mill for these 2 signings? i thought they only had a small amount too spend? maybe they are letting others go??
for someone on a restricted budget, hes bought allen 15 mill, borini 11 mill and now these two..thats near 30 mill!

The Warrior sponsorship money, coupled with the owners being well off... I thought they'd pull the plug after spunking so much money on nothing with Dalglish and continuing to do so with Rodgers (Borini lol), but it may well be that they're still giving it a go.

BBC are saying £12m for Sturridge and £6m for Ince. Factor in wages, signing on fees etc and that's their January budget spunked.

Tits.
