ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

UEFA waiting until after the competition is over isn't necessarily a bad thing. If the police find evidence that this was a planned ambush of the Manchester City coach and there was premeditated thoughts to vandalise the bus (shouldn't be too hard to find, just check twitter) the RS could be looking at a stadium ban next season.

This also means that Liverpool fans have to be on their absolute best behaviour for the remainder of this competition. Any repeat behaviour of their fans in the semis home leg or if their fans go abroad to Spain, Germany or the final in Kyiv and smash the place up then the club will be in very serious trouble. UEFA tend to stack up charges when dealing with a club.

And the good thing about this is their fans are the absolute scum of the earth, they'll almost certainly get in trouble one way or another.

Was thinking that myself because, if they got punished now imagine the cries of "UEFA are only doing it because they don't want us to win it etc, etc"

I think Uefa's delay is just tempting City fans for reprisals next week, hopefully not the case, but seems utter madness to me not to deal with swiftly and put down a warning and boundary ahead of the second leg.

Call me naive mate but can you elaborate further?

It was complete dereliction of duty by both parties. They knew what would happen yet rather than prevented it actually facilitated it. The publicised changing of the route, the club not warning against the sort of incidents that happened in 2014. As a club they have always pushed the line to do anything that gives them an advantage. Nearly every other club had cleaned up the hooligan part of their fan base yet they refuse to do so. The Alan Smith incident, Racist abuse from fans and players, fan behaviour on European trips, the club has never taken accountability for anything and turns a smirking blind eye towards the whole thing as long as they are winning.

I guarantee the Manchester police will be policing an event like a high profile football match properly next week. They’ll know there’ll be trouble but I bet they’ll be vigilant and take all precautions. The Merseyside police knew exactly what would happen but they’ve failed to clamp down on their fans in the past and they allowed your bus to be smashed to pieces along a route they were supposed to be patrolling. They clearly had not learned (or didn’t want to) any lessons from all those previous incidents.

Remember the semi-final at the Etihad a few years back. The police following instructions had their batons raised in anticipation of trouble fro Everton fans. They used them for no other reason than they wanted to.

Anyone seen that Wijnaldum spouting the same crap he spouted before the last derby game about utd being the bigger game because we are gash?

Can someone please snap that little tit tomorrow.
