ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

They have a good chance. But no more than the other two left in it now.

We of course see looming disaster for us and understandable so. But they really haven't played the European heads of state in this competition. That was the big disappointment of Barcelona going out and leaving them to face Roma.

As said earlier though: the stakes are massive. Lose and they are utterly devastated. I for one will glory in that. Cant wait. *waves at Kopite lurkers*

Thing is tho I dont think Barcelona are at the best right now, betting Roma is annoying but they wont make of much of a deal out of that scalp, but imagine is that beat Barcelona? That would be big news in deludedland

Bayern and their manager know klopp inside out and have had his measure, Madrid own this competition and have the worlds biggest big game player.
I'm in this camp. I do get the concern, I'm concerned myself. But the fatalism is a bit hard to take. If it was another English club or PSG or someone they were guaranteed to face I'd be besides myself right now and accept it's theirs. But it isn't, and they'll face a stern test and one probably beyond them in a tense final where the opposition will be so experienced.

I've never thought at any time that Liverpool will be holding that trophy up this season, and I still dont now. Obviously its more dramatic now, but that just means utter heartbreak for them when they do lose.

They are Spanish champions elect. Still a good team and one that would have given Liverpool a better game than Roma tonight.

And an expensive flight to Kiev as well. If there was a guarantee they lose that game then I would take every time. As you say, that deflation they feel will be beautiful. Breathe it in.

Soon as that Sane "offside" happened at city I've believed that they have got their name on it. Had flashbacks to that Garcia "goal" in 05. Sincerely hope I'm wrong.

I think it's still odds on we have a great summer: Liverpool beaten in another final and Allardyce replaced.

That ^^^ is more realistic than them winning the CL and us retaining Allardyce.

Let's just put the fatalism away and concentrate on the percentages.

The stakes are getting higher and higher.

I suppose the way to look at this now is to acknowledge that we are bricking it (most of us are) and they have the biggest prize in the club game in Europe within their reach.

However, it cuts both ways: the prize is enormous, yes. But it's an enormous blow to have it ripped off you in the final game. The absolute dreamland elation is almost there for them to taste and enjoy; but the flip side of that is if they fall short it will be utterly devastating - something you dont come back from for years and it'd break that team and probably lose them Salah and a couple of others. They have the weight of the world on them going to Kiev. Let's see if they have the shoulders to cope with it.
Mate?

Loving the optimism here its almost infectious.

I would sooner it be Munich, the Germans seem to have a psychological edge against the English and they are due one over the English sides in the final after United and Chelsea done them in it.
