Echo Sports "Journalists"

I'm sure they are a decent bunch of lads who have the misfortune of working for an awful newspaper.

Toads without an ounce of journalistic integrity.

Why any Blue would buy the echo is beyond me. Lfc stuff is always the priority, why is it listed before Everton? Surely it should be alphabetical.

I have no respect for anyone who buys, reads, works for or supports that kopite rag. The sooner is folds the better, I'd celebrate if it died.

All these formerly "local" papers are 90% filled with lazy columns from other "local" papers around the country designed to tempt you to click. Then there's the intrusive and itrelevant ads of course plus the "celebrity x you won't believe what she looks like now" stories. Add a little bit of badly written, uninsightful, uninvestgative, un-boat rocking local news is added to add to the "local" illusion.

It is a waste of time so obvious its practically spam. I got a fb ban from commenting the same on my "local" paper in Swindon when I listed all the same "local" stories I'd read in the Liverpool echo. The fiercely proud free press actually restricted my freedom of speech. Oh the irony!!

There are no real reporters involved in these papers.

I like them. Adam Jones in particular. I don't blame them for having to work within an organisation that's obsessed with page views.

That's the way I see it, unfortunately they have to work within their organistations practices. It's a catch 22 for them, they want to be sports journalists specific to Everton, but how many jobs are going in that these days?

It's called lack of integrity.

It's not journalism. Writing sycophantic clickbait to see their names in the paper or to be seen to be associated with football.

Integrity is great if you can afford it

I’m fortunate to work for a responsible company but I wouldn’t say I agree with everything my company stands for but also that’s how I provide for my family

The Everton ones are a pretty harmless bunch aren’t they?

Probably not allowed to write any real gossip in case the club cuts them out completely and they lose their jobs.

Obviously the LFC ones are Scientologists and the rest of the paper is filled with rubbish about Christine McGuinness latest pair of socks

That's fair.

I just think that journalists should hold themselves to a higher standard if that's what they aspire to be.

I've worked for plenty of companies I hated for a pay cheque in various roles. Now I work in healthcare, I require more from my employer otherwise I'd move on. But I'm honest enough to say that's a luxury I can afford in terms of the job market, others may not be as fortunate.

The website is a mess click on a sports headline and get a totally different story
the crime section on there is a rogues gallery of historic noncey behaviour

I used to buy it on a daily basis until around 10 years ago. Never forgave them for 1) encouraging Blues to vote in favour of Kirkby (which I didn't) and 2) you had Prentice writing article after article slamming Hicks and Gillett when they were running Liverpool into the ground, yet this supposed Blue refused to do the same when the guy who we're still lumbered with as 'Chairman' was doing the same to the club he claims to support.

Dominic King (a red btw) was so far up Kenwright's arse it was untrue when he was Everton correspondent for the paper.
