Hes going to ram them laughs down your throat tonight and I will set the Turkish ultras on you. They've been waiting.

....the coaches and managers clearly think he isn’t ready or might never be. He’d have been involved if they thought he was.

I watched him in a recent U23 game & he comes alive when the ball breaks free in the box or if it’s played into space beyond him but he failed to lead the line, he failed to help his team out when they were under the cosh.

I think @Mikey_Fitzgerald might be more accurate if he asks if Simms will ever be good enough. He’ll need to offer much more but he‘s a prolific scorer at youth level.

Seems like Simms and Kean are quite similar.

'Fox in the box' types...whereas Ancelotti seems to prefer something different.

Which is funny because he did quite well with Pippo Inzaghi up top.

Simms is probably another that needs a loan. He's 20 scoring over a goal every two in the u23s. Get him up against adults and see how he looks.

....there’s no reason Simms can’t offer more, he has the size, pace and physicality to make life really difficult for CBs but seems to meander through games. I have no idea if he’ll ever get an opportunity with us but he’s 20 now and despite our lack of cover up top he doesn’t seem anywhere near getting game time.

Didn’t even realise he was 20 already I thought he was only just 18!

big questions to be asked today as to if he has it or not. If he was as prolific/good as people making out surely he would have been given a good few chances by now.

Im not having a go either the lad deserves a chance, but it’s strange he hasn’t been given a go. It’s not like we are stacked up front.

I could understand if he was 16/17

He’s goal scoring ratio dropped quite a bit when he was moved up a level, playing against others closer to his size. All the hype came from him bullying 16yo while himself being a much bigger lad and scoring loads. Based on that alone, i doubt he’ll make it here, but i hope im wrong.

Only the coaching staff can really answer that.

Personally I think we'll be looking a bit short if another striker isn't brought in. Would seem really strange to let Kean go and not have at least a like-for-like lined up.
Not sure about it,some players blossom in the higher level others fold, you can only find out by trying them. It's like cup games when unknown strikers give us a torrid time then go back to being ordinary week in week out in their division. So many unknowns.

With a midfield of Rui Costa, Seedorf and Pirlo you’re going to control the ball and create a hell of a lot of chances, you ideally want a Fox in the box with clever movement as a striker to finish them off.

If we’re honest, our midfield is a tad off that level of chance creation. Carlo’s aware that this current Everton team are some way off being able to play like his Milan team and so is taking the horses for courses approach to what we need up top.
