Oh I can already hear the knives being sharpened for him

Everyone is happy to jettison Simms right now because we've got Cannon, but as you say, in a years time they'll be demanding that he gets culled for whoever the new hotness is

Then they'll want that player culled and the cycle will repeat itself

Honestly we deserve to have one of these younger players come back and batter us in a game. It might make us learn something

It's nothing to do that. We've seen Simms, we've seen Cannon, one has the tools, one doesn't. Simple as that really.

the only thing with Cannon is the fact he is not super big / tall. So i think best when he plays with another striker. However that is not how Dyche plays.
wonder if he fares well in the role asked of him. but impact sub next season for sure useful squad player as he needs to learn/ grow

It isn't? His entire Burnley career was two strikers.

If Simms was as good as the whiners saying ‘don’t sell’ say he is, then why didn’t Hearts try and sign him permanently last summer or Sunderland make an offer to sign him permanently in January instead of willingly bending over and let him be recalled?

I haven’t seen them banging down the door this summer either. The truth is he was okay for Sunderland but was very much second fiddle to Ross Stewart, who is pretty average.

You don't understand why the middling Scottish club didn't waste their time trying to take a promising young player off of a PL club?

From what I've seen and it not a lot to be fair this lad doesn't have it at the age of 22 to cut it in the Premier. I just think he looks too immobile for a start. Secondly doesn't look as physical or imposing as his size suggests he could be. There are another couple of points that stand out but I don't want to trash him. He is still young is a positive I can give him.

Fixed that for for you mert
Simple as that really.

Yet one scored a decent goal Vs a decent player and team in the premier league.
And one...as far as I'm aware...hasn't - Yet

Simple as that really
Nothing is ever that simple.

You mean that goal where Kepa was absolutely crap?
All keepers are crap if it goes in...and they'll be the first to tell you that.

He's not prime Southall or Yashin I know - but he's not exactly Dia Davies or Lawson is he?

Edit: nor is Koubilay Koldrup either

I never said he was a good/crap keeper just crap for Simms' goal! I even said it in the match thread at the time. We'd be fuming if Pickford let that in.

All opinions innit, if Ipswich up their offer a bit and he's gone. Good for him, good for them and we need the money.

fwiw, I think Connon is better lol

Nah Cannon runs faster and jumps higher. We've got a Shane Long regen and everyone is pumped.
