My point earlier was that if simms had electric pace, or had the ability to dribble past people, or could find pockets of space where he could link the play or anything like that then we wouldn’t need him to hold the ball up, we could play in a way that utilised what he’s got. The problem is he can’t do any of those things either. We’re not obsessed with having people who can hold the ball up, it’s just the ‘easiest’ thing to ask someone to do when everyone’s crap. Again, in an ideal world everyone wouldn’t be crap and we could ping the ball round creating all sorts of chances for a fluid front 3, but we are blatantly not capable of doing that and so are trying to play in a way that gets the most out of the extremely meagre options we have. Pretty much everyone else understands this.

If I may add, we got used to having a sweet left foot in LB with both Baines and Digne, that channel being useful helped soften the decline of the right flank, but Myko aint at the races, he aint even involved with the forwards stuff! so as a set of fans we've had to wake up to distribution from the back coming down a couple of pegs. We got used to having riches in the squad, the cupboard is much more bare now and the games are showing it and the points we aint getting.

A litany of incredibly poor recruiting instances on top of incredible bad luck (Bolasie, Gbamin) and some incredible bad choices made from our record buy. A lot has gone against us consecutively, and we've spent what little we've had after, just as bad trying to catch up but actually spending to get worse.

There is no hail mary Moyes signings like Coleman or Stones or Lescott to come through, and the most recent bit of luck that turned up in the academy got an idea of which way the wind was blowing and jumped ship as quickly as he could.

All that money spent and so little to show for it. This is close to where we ended up with agent johnson when he'd finally had enough.

But your solution is simply “just play different bro”. Have you actually looked at the state of this squad? Our “creative” player is Iwobi who isn’t even capable of weighting a pass properly to a team mate.

I truly don't care how bad you are this is not a viable way to play. Eventually you get relegated.

We are over mid way through a season, the transfer window is shut, we have NOBODY capable of scoring a goal, nobody capable of creating chances, what style exactly are you expecting ANY manager to be able to implement in this set of circumstances? How would your hero Jesse Marsch have these players playing?

We have no attacking structure, no midfield structure, no way of playing and people think this is only a players problem.

And we'll never actually get to see that it isn't because next up to coach will be Moyes or Martinez or some crap like that.

That is just clearly bollocks.

The win against Arsenal was a direct result of a clear game plan and positional instruction to players.

We'll see how it goes. I don't really by that hammering long balls at a big strikers head is going to have consistency in the attacking third.

I think if you're using Doucoure in a very specific role where he's coming off the bench for energy or literally just running you can squeeze just enough out of him to get a real midfield because the other guys are good enough to pick up the slack.

We're not working with much here man. But the midfield is just good enough to be competitive I think.

Isn't that how he was utilized against arsenal he seemed to have a particular orders on how to operate?

Honestly I was just bored working from home and wanted to jedi mind trick you into defending someone you loathe as a footballer lol

I like the sound of this Nobody, you say he can create and score. When do we throw him into the first team?

He’s honestly just beyond redemption. Some days I’m on here going ‘no I can see where he’s coming from you’re all being too harsh on him’, then he has a day like today and you just have to admit that he’s an absolute loon with no grasp on the reality of football.

He is always box office, I’ll give him that. Proper leaves me flabbergasted sometimes.
