Good strikers at this level make things happen and create space for others at the very least. Service is not an argument that I really accept, and I don't think we should accept it as a club - our rivals certainly don't accept it. They expect their centre forward to make things happen, not rely on service in the 6 yard area.

Haha right, I’ve been watching that Haaland fella tonight, I guess by your standards he’s crap , didn’t make a thing happen on his own , but two brilliant bits of service to him in the six yard box and he scores two cracking goals .

Gotta slot them at this level, but wasnt given much else to work with, pretty crap job running the line in this side for anybody.

Yeah. We are missing Doucore too so even less presence in the middle. It was a nice one-two though that completely broke their defense and we never see that from any of our strikers so it makes me hopeful that someday he will develop a clever game.

We were almost better off persisting with Gray though and just trying to hit United on the counter for this one. They outmatched us horribly and even more with Iwobi in the middle instead of Doucore.

I do like that Dyche went for it though and if Simms slots that chance maybe it’s a different story.

He makes stuff happen all the time. He's incredible.

Although I'm not asking Simms to play like Haaland! I just think hes more effective as a sub.

Oh I agree , Simms is not a PL starter , better coming off the bench, ….but we’ve managed to get ourselves in such a shoite position Dyche may well need to start him .

Dunno, Haaland has been known to miss the target and people are astonished , but Simms will never ever be close to Haaland’s class so pointless making a comparison.

I thought he was fine because not every chance goes in but getting into a spot to maybe score is not something anyone else does. If your strikers pressing prevents you from defending at all your striker isn't the problem. Dyche acknowledged as much by switching the formation to solve the problem.

We're also two gamed removed from him dribbling Koulibaly and scoring

Absolutely dreadful miss. He shouldn’t be starting for a club the size of Everton.

But it’s not his fault the board, scouting department, managers etc have mismanaged the situation so badly that it’s come to this.

The lad can't press, like in the Derby it was too easy for them to play out and then ping those long balls. Grey didn't help him to be fair.
