Glenn McGrath

Ex-Australia seamer on BBC Test Match Special

"It started well for the Australians but Mitchell Starc has let England off the hook a bit here. He needs a a bit more consistency around that area at the top of off stump. There is enough movement to make that length work. As a bowler you have to do less when there is natural variation. You have to be patient, though."

Psychologically we need the lead over 100 but it will be a case of the Aussies being happy(ish) that they have not been punished fully and England being happy(ish) that we have that psychological barrier passed after the cheap wickets.

England are still in the box seat but an opening will be created if the last 3 wickets are taken cheaply.

please put moeen in ahead of buttler next innings/test! tired of a quality batsman like that playing with bowlers all the time. buttler's trying to play like a test batsman and not playing his natural game and making no contributions. get him in there with the bowlers and he'll feel the need to throw his bat a bit more and get a quick 40/50/60 etc.

is that aussie fans i can hear on the radio chanting siddle?

if it is, who do they want him to replace? i'd argue he's not as good as any of those 3 pacemen.
