2005 was the exception rather than the rule and will never be repeated. Two great sides rather than one side being much more superior to the other. Probably have to go back to 81 till the last classic one before 05? Personally I don't think I'd tire of watching us batter the Aussies after years of the boot being on the other foot.

Maybe they wanted to calibrate the calender or something after they carved up the whole thing? Like mucking up the league if we have a winter football WC.

The back to back 2013 & 2013/14 series we were told was due to a rejigging of the calendar. Can't see much difference if the next home series is now in 2019, only that the Down Under series is a year later than before. Hopefully it will all make sense in the end.

Either way, it does feel like we have had 3 or 4 pretty quickly these last few years or so. Or maybe a sign of my advancing years more like.

That was the best day of a test match I have ever followed. I've seen quite a few over the years, but that was something else. Everton should sign Joe Root - he could probably score for fun as a footballer.

Imagine turning up an hour late for that one.....

Remember my very first one day international. Got in and the West Indies were already 13-3 and Beefy had just taken the 3rd wicket. Viv Richards was just coming into bat though and scored 189 so I caught the best bit.
