People don't like accepting that luck is a big part of tournament play.

No team is guaranteed to win anything, no matter how good they or their manager are. If this was league play then sure, you could make that argument. But it's a tournament, and whether people want to accept it or not, a certain amount of luck is necessary to win a tournament no matter how could a team is. If Lukaku doesn't miss a sitter it's 2-2 and headed to extra time. Wins and losses are determined by fine margins, many of which a manager can't control.

I see we’re just supposed to ignore the fact that they have the likes of Courtois, Hazard, Tielmens, Meunier, Lukaku, Carrasco, De Bruyne, and Alderwiereld and have had them all since Bob took over. Wasted most of their best years.

to be fair most of them are not top class. Belgium have 2 or 3 top players built on a defence of utter crap.

no, I don’t agree.

I think everyone’s entitled to an opinion and the game of football is a game of opinions. You surly don’t expect a caveat on each comment so you can validate a it?

I feel when you seek to justify someone’s opinion on the bais of them living somewhere that has a poor international side you’re essentially at Steve claridge levels as per his ‘it’s easy from the cheap seats’ comment
