Sol campbells disallowed goal, rooney injury and harsh sending off, Michael Owens injury, going out on penalties to Germany in two semi finals…
We have had plenty of times where we haven’t had the run of the green.
You may have missed the last word of my post.

I'm thinking that all the pressure that was on England last night to win the semi final, will have lessened massively with regards the final on Sunday.
If I'm correct then it'll be interesting to see how they perform against the Italians. They could actually do it.

I don't see it that way. For me England are the clear favorites to win on home soil. So I think there will be even more pressure.

No it doesnt.

There are no poor sides in the Euros. Plenty in a WC. You gleefully pointed out that England had only beaten minows to get a SF last time.

The plaudits of being World Champions? Yeah, that means more than winning the Euros, but the quality, a few countries aside, is way stronger.
North Macedonia, Slovakia, Scotland??

I feel sorry for people who hate the England team.

Potentially a national celebration and party missed and sneered at.

In years to come when people reminice there will be more than a touch of regret perhaps too embarrassing and painful to admit, that when the nation was enjoying themselves they spent their time in misery because they were too cool and edgy to support their country.

Honestly, as a person who was pretty much “meh” about England, until I saw what Southgate was actually doing, I can’t see how anyone can hate this England side?

They absolutely love playing for the side, for one another and whilst I still think Southgate is too cautious, he’s achieved what he wanted all along. Unity, getting fans excited about England again. 1 goal conceded in 570 minutes is a huge achievement.

We’ve had the stars like Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard… but means nothing down. 90 minutes stands between themselves and glory, and whilst Italy is a big test, 66,000 in the stadium will make it electric.

Can’t wait.

Imagine Everton actually showed up for once, imagine how we’d all be.
