Feel sorry for the lad Saka in particular. Southgate really did a number on him, making a 19 year old take the fifth penalty in a shootout. Hope he recovers from tonight and has a decent season for Arsenal (except for against us, of course!)

He and the coaching staff should all be absolutely ashamed of themselves for putting that lad in that position, or for allowing the player to put himself in it. He's 19, the impact on his life could be catastrophic and they should have known that. You intervene and stop it from happening unless it's forced (had the pens gone down the line).

Appalling, can't believe people are letting him off the hook for it. Some leader.

Condolences friends. You should be very proud of your team.

As for the game I think England going ahead as early as they did worked against them trying to get a lead and hold it as Italy had plenty of time to ratchet up the pressure chasing the equalizer. The quality gap in midfield didn't help there either. Ultimately they got it to a place where they had a coin flip so to speak to win and Donnarumma had too much. Two good teams and a great game to finish a great tournament.

That 5th penalty to stay in the game must be the hardest thing in sports. Period. Kane should be taking that one.
