Euro2020 Knock Out Rounds

Outstanding?

He wouldn't get a minutes game time in any Spanish or Italian MF.
Well he's not a midfielder so you've got them there.

He's be on the Spain left over Olmo, Ferran Torres or any of their other options. Insigne and Grealish is a coin flip. Very similar players at a similar level.

Home advantage is a myth mate. France 98 and Argentina 78 were the last two home nations to win WC. France in 84 last home nation to win Euros.
It’s really hard to win but I don’t believe there’s no advantage. South Africa is the only host to ever not advance out of their group at the World Cup and even they were only knocked out on goal difference in a group with Uruguay, France, and Mexico where they were easily the weakest. If you look through the results, there’s a pattern of overachieving. US in 94, South Korea making the semi in 02, poor German side making the semi final in 06, Russians making the quarters in 2018, taking down Spain on the way despite being one of the least talented in the whole competition. It matters.

What's your view on that cowardly Kopite rat Henderson getting himself subbed to avoid a penalty please?
Huh why would you want my view on that, we are talking about Grealish.

Southgate said after the match and in the press conference that the 5 picked were the best 5 penalty takers in training.

Maguire must be great at pens, that was a rocket.

I agree with what you are saying and home advantage will help teams, but some people think a lot of home teams win major tournaments when they dont. Read a few years ago, after the 2012 Olympics, that home support can lift/help an athlete by 15% improvement.

stop trying so hard to have different opinions to the norm on everything, I know it’s kind of your whole forum persona but it’s gone from being mildly amusing a few years back to beyond tedious.

He’s an outstanding player, I don’t give a toss about hypothetical arguments about whether he would play in Italy or Spains midfield.

Rice and Phillips was a shocking centre midfield tandem, they wouldn't be no where near the squads of Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Belgium.

They wouldn't get anywhere near the squad of a top contender in the CL in their entire careers, both are so limited and it showed once the 20 mins mark came up after the fake tactical Jorginho injury where they had a mini team talk, the Italians wrestled the game and were on control from them on, was amazing to see just how shocking both Rice and Phillips were, they were both looked heavy legged by the 70 min mark.

Not one of them has 1 minute of CL football under their belt and it showed, worst midfield pairing i have ever seen in my lifetime playing for England, Veratti and Barela were light years ahead of them in technique, passing and controlling the tempo of the match.
Do you think they were in the team on merit over Hendo mate?
