Southgate said match fitness is why they started against Croatia and he stuck with them, worst midfield pairing out of the big teams.

Sancho and Rashford have both taken penalties for their clubs too. It was a selection that made a lot of sense but they missed. It happens. Pressure ratchets up when you're put in to take one too.

Can't understand the stop-start, pitter patter run up when taking a penalty.

I've always preferred Beattie style, place the ball, walk back and then hit with venom.
Know where you're going to hit it, and as with Kane's even if the keeper guesses correctly, he still has a hard time of keeping it out.
