Southgate said match fitness is why they started against Croatia and he stuck with them, worst midfield pairing out of the big teams.

Verratti Jorginho and Berella against them 2 was so cruel to watch, Rice and Phillips were gassed from 70 mins chasing shadows, no CL football between them which is the pinnacle and it showed.

I mean, I attended Germany, Denmark and the Italy games, and you could sense the air was tense even before getting off the train at London, loads went down without tickets from Lime Street (but they had kids, and wanted to take them out, had no intentions of bunking it), but got to Wembley about 1ish, and it was heaving, everyone was moody from the off.

Saw no trouble but so many people double clicked around us. The stewards didn't check my ticket for 2 of the 3 games (my ticket still shows as "to be activated") and it just shows, they underpay their stewards, they aren't going to care.

News articles about people bunking Denmark, only gave people ideas to bunk, rather than deter people. Less Stewards, more knobheads.

My experiences have been great, met lots of top, top people, and by large, the small minority didn't ruin my occasion. Not against England not getting a major tournament now, idiots.

I am upset. Upset that Southgate didn't use the captain of captains, ace penalty thief, and CAPTAIN of Liverpool (copyright the BBC) to better effect in the shoot out. A player so experienced and seasoned in the champions league ought to be leading by example. Well as Rashford has explained, in detail (not that he should have to, btw), he was giving himself time to pick the spot, make a decision, because he didn't have confidence.

It was poor management from Southgate. Rashford's pen is half a foot away from working out brilliantly, but it didn't. Southgate put too much on the young lads, it's on him.
