Yeah that's a slightly different argument. I was more talking about the people saying the teams we'd play would be league one standard and we should be able to play the kids etc. I think those people would be in for a nasty surprise if thats what we decided to do. Personally i'd treat it a bit like the league cup, not a priority as such, so put a changed team out, but not so changed that you don't still expect to win the game. We haven't won a trophy for nearly 30 years, I genuinely won't be turning my nose up at any opportunity to end that, even if it isn't one of the ones we really want.

Too many comps. CL and EL. Even the Super Cup sucks ass.

I think the teams we’d play in the group stages would be an absolute pile of arse, but yeah if we were to progress in the competition we’d obviously meet some decent sides along the way in the knockouts. I think the 6 group games would be really valuable experience for our youngsters and don’t reckon anyone would really be arsed if we got knocked out.
 
I can imagine with this, the qualifying round is going to be at some point in the preseason but fairly late on. I think depending on if we get through that and who we get in the group it could be a good competition to be in. But we will probably have to make use of the the u23's in this and the league cup, so we may have some mixed results.

It doesn’t excite me much either mate, but I’m talking about our progression as a club. The next step needs to be constant European football. Any European football, with the aim of breaking into the top 4 after a couple of seasons.

You don’t often go from struggling to finish top half straight into the champions league.
 
Heart: Champions League and nothing else! Win all our remaining games. COYB!!


Head: You idiot!! Spaffed away the cups, probably only get 2 wins in the remaining fixtures. This is the best we can hope for and given the teams that would be in it we'll probably win the thing!! UTT!
