European premier league bombshell.....

So there'll be an 18 team league, 5 from the premiership, and the top 4 or so play a knock out to see who wins at the end.

No champions league.

So they'll still compete in their domestic league. But what's incentive.

The knockout thing, isn’t that how they do it in the rugby

Headline says those two article says "big six" (no longer top 6) - Firmly believe this is an attempt to push their agenda on the "strategic review"

14 should ask the 6 to confirm if you are in or out by specific date

Only 5 teams can go in it from the prem. So 1 of those "big 6" is not gonna be a big team anymore

They will soon get bored playing each other 20 times a season.

I look forward to not having to listen to their non stop 24/7 twaddle. The real premier league will be a much better place without either of them. ;)

NO ONE IS SUGGESTING LEAVING THE PREMIER LEAGUE

So if I'm reading this right it is going to be a standard league format with 16 or 18 teams and no relegation. So what I'm wondering is how they are going to handle it when there are 3 or 4 teams left playing for the title by February or March and everyone else is playing out the string with 10+ games that mean nothing. Arsenal vs Dortmund sounds like a good match that people would watch in theory, but if both teams are 25 points off the league lead and aren't playing for anything, what then? Arsenal fans are going to be showing up and watching on TV for something like that? Color me skeptical.

There is a reason that American sports have playoffs. It makes it so almost every game has at least one team playing for something all season.

Theres a knockout for the top 4 sides from what I've read.

So long as they leave the prem , i would be made with them going.
Only thing I would do was say if you leave no coming back unless you start at the bottom of the league ladder and the clubs at that level agree to it.
Horrible cancer to football in this country both of them .
Make it a clear choice they either stay in the prem or play in this, it's not just there choice its every other clubs as well.
Why should they have the only vote on this.
Most of the so called big clubs have been in the second division in my lifetime the cheeky bs
