Don't think the UK song was the worst (hello Germany) but it was the blandest and most insipid with a frankly lack lustre singer.

The European side of the Yarrrgh family was taking it very seriously though which is always bizarre but it would appear that appearances are also hugely important to get the votes the further east you go.

Agreed that the Germans song was worse. Also, no way there should be 11 points between England and The Netherlands. That song and performance was cringeworthy

Appearance, the stage show production and style and substance of the performer not in the sense of the music - how they come across.

The song of course can't be rubbish, but as I said it's not a UK market we should cater for. It may get lots of UK teens voting for it, but they don't watch EV.

Actually I think blandness is a worse crime than cringeworthiness when it comes to getting eurovision points.

Riverdance was awesome, still rewatch that performance every now and again.

I actually thought some of the songs were pretty good for what they were. Ukraine, Finland and Portugal's entries were all decent
