So you think it was premeditated? Then he's an even bigger [Poor language removed] that I've ever gave him credit for.

You're forgetting her response was 3 days after the incident and the subsequential uproar that had nothing to do with her.
She wasn't removed from the match day squad or training before then. The media and Mourinho have a lot to answer for blowing it up before then.

No I don't think it was pre-meditated. The rumour was that she was having sex with Ivanovic so perhaps Mourinho was already at boiling point.

It would have been a footnote and let's not pretend otherwise which is my point. It would have been good if it was treated the same because in the end it won't be good for women coming after Eva Carneiro.
It wasn't a footnote in Germany which is the only other recent example of a public dispute of a doctor by a manager, so you seem to be basing this on your own prejudices rather than actual data.

I'm basing it on observing how people are talking about it including many pundits and considering you weren't even sure of the other guy's name I would say the fact that she's a woman makes this story more important to you too. So please quit with accusing me of having prejudice and perhaps take the time to recognize your own.

I am not denying that the magnitude of the story is increased by her sex, but you seem to be suggestng that it wouldn't be a story at all or a very minor one at best.

You also seem to be implying that a male doctor would have reacted differently to the public manner of the dressing down which is also not the case in the most recent example.

Fearne vs Fearn - I've also spelt Carniero several different ways, as well as several other words!

The manager of the current Premier League Champions suspends his team doctor for doing what the referee asked them to, and what they are required to do under the rules of football, and then publicly has a go at them for a week.

Why wouldn't people, pundits and bots on the internet be talking about it, if the doctor was male?

Exactly. Your job is to care for the safety and well being of the players. One of your players goes down on the pitch. The referee says 'right miss lady physio, one of your players is injured, come take care of him'. You go onto the pitch and find out he was all 'jk lawlz lol' You go back to the bench and are yelled at, subsequently removed from your duties as well.

Pretty straightforward, no?

Well the fact that we aren't even sure who the other guy is I would say yes it is only news to this magnitude because she's a woman.

I've just said it's magnified because of who it is - but to say it's news only because of her is ludicrous, especially when the other side of the coin isn't exactly an unknown in Jose Mourinho.

But anyway, don't let me interrupt your sexist rantings, it's amusing me no end.

She is milking this to the heavens and back as far as i'm concerned, and is being truly unprofessional. She, along with physio Jon Hearn, were called out for their role in the incident, and the aftermath has seen numerous articles, A facebook explanation, A twitter Explanation and multiple guilt trips on Mourinho, what annoys me here is, all of the media reports, revolve around Eva Carneiro, and why? Because shes played the victim card. My honest opinion is, if she wasn't a woman, and one which attracts high interest due to her looks, then this gets brushed under the carpet, and it's not even mentioned in the news.
Yes, Mourinho is in the wrong, however, in the place of work if you cross your boss, regardless of whether it's legal or not, you're going to get pulled up, and she did, albeit in a very public way. Funny though, haven't heard Jon Hearn complaining though.

I would have to counter that statement

I work for a financial institution, and we have to follow FSA Guidelines. If we are in breach of those guidelines, then we get the company into a lot of trouble

If I do something by the book that follows the FSA guidelines, and my boss vindictively punishes me over it, if I were to report them they could face harsh disciplinary measures as a result. The sanctions that the institution would face for deliberately ignoring the guidelines could be extreme

It's the same in this case

FIFA have guidelines which are to be followed. If the doctors had refused to enter the pitch, they would have been in breach of those guidelines. At that point, Chelsea as a club could face sanctions, fines etc

It was a lose-lose situation for the doctors. Do their job and get lambasted by the manager, or don't do it and face consequences from the governing body. The point is, there shouldn't be a lose-lose situation in this matter. Mourinho has made it so. I can't think of any judge who would side against the doctor in this situation

She has him completely bang to rights

Sexism doesn't even come into it, and hopefully there isn't a lot made of it. She has them on employment rules alone here

She would additionally have medical board/licensing regulations to be followed not to mention ethical.

Can't wait until Hazard has a premature stroke on the pitch and Jose tells his doctor not to bother rushing on to the pitch.

*joke*

I'm not implying a male doctor would react differently just that the situation becomes more complicated because it's a woman due to the extra media attention and how others react. This is what I originally wrote.

"There's definitely sexism at play here but it's the fact that deep down everyone feels sorry for Eva Carneiro, the pretty young female doctor getting a verbal assault from Jose Mourinho, the grumpy old man."

You are forgetting one of the doctors is male and most people don't even know his name.

It's not open for debate. What I am saying is in this case it is simply a demonstrable fact.
