There’s 8 or 9 others on the pitch who conceded those goals as a team too. Tim was right up there in the PL let alone the team, for interceptions, duels won etc. People will often cite Gana’s defensive stats for why he should play; Tim can do the same dirty work and also can pass it forward, which Gana most assuredly cannot.

Garner against Barnes is a mismatch but he’s sticking to his task, Tarkowski really struggling for form and can’t handle the pace of Gordon. It’s total backs to the wall, DCL troubling their CBs but we’re not carrying a goal threat.

I actually think we’d be better off in this instant with Doucoure at 10 and Gana coming on.

Palace didn't get a penalty earlier today because ''the foul didn't affect the play' or words to that effect. Whilst it was a clear foul in the great scheme of things, Newcastle had a shot way over the bar as Tarks committed the offence, same thing IMO.
Always falls the way of Top 6 /7/8 or whatever it is these days.

Mate, we literally got the same penalty away to Newcastle last season. No complaints.
