Such an utterly classless man, we gave him the platform to succeed and this is how he repays us.
He should have kept his mouth shut, acted professionally then he could have left with our blessing. Hope the arrogant bell falls flat on his face ad we finish above them.

Whilst I agree that the Pogba videos have been cringe inducing and would have been better avoided I'm not sure Rom could every have left with everyone's blessing.

For instance Fellaini kept his mouth shut and acted completely professionally during the Man Utd bid saga, even playing during it and waiving his loyalty bonus to get the deal done which gave us more profit, yet some fans still booed him on his return.

You are right Dave. The deal is a good one but i am surprised that we would allow it to be completed without a deal in place for the replacement as we will now be taken to the cleaners. If Rooney and Sandro are the replacements it is going to be a long season.

There has been a lot of good work done but the timing of this deal and bringing back Rooney are the first mistakes

I've no issue with Rooney, tbh. I think it might work out...not as well as others suggest, but he'll score some key goals before quietly retiring. IMO this is Rooney doing a lot of squaring off for past 'misdemeanours'. The testimonial game started the ball rolling, this is the completion of his rehabilitation. Done for all his family as much as any football reason.

Exactly my point - Rooney will improve us. Played similar positions for the most part last season also. If anything, Barkley was more advanced in a more central role and saw a lot more of the ball than Rooney. And look at how surprisingly awful Barkley's touch is - gives the ball away 4.8 times per game, without even counting sloppy passing (although his pass completion isn't as bad as you might suspect - 84%).

Incidentally, Lukaku's pass success rate is a woefully bad 65%! And he gives the ball away 4.5 times per game discounting this awful passing - must be by far the worst forward in the league for everything else bar pointless tap ins at the end of games we're already winning! Cheers for the 7 points Rom, which made absolutely no difference to our season!

With Rooney, Sandro and Klaasen we'll massively improve our ball retention in the attacking 3rd = goals from all over!

Aye, bad mouthing us would be a different story.

It was a marriage of convenience rather than love but both sides have benefited greatly from the relationship so don't see why there is need for any animosity from either party.

Fwiw I think Koeman looks at Everton in much the same way that Rom did when he first joined.
