We better enjoy the Europa League this season as it may be our last for a while I am afraid.
Naturally, I hope I am wrong.
I think the manager wants to spread goals more evenly throughout the team next season.
I think he was expecting more goals from Barkley last season and one of the reasons he does not have great belief in Barkley is because he doesn't think he will ever deliver lots of goals.
I think he is possibly hoping for ten goals plus from Klaasen, Sandro, Rooney? and maybe even Sigurdsson if he is signed. Mirallas will be expected to chip in and Bolasie when he gets back.

Last season we were one injury away from being in big trouble up front and it looks to me as if the manager is trying to sign players to share out the goals.

Of course the signing of Rooney looks a possibility, the signing of Sigurdsson is still paper talk only

Who then mate? Going to have to be a gamble because if they're better than Rooney or Giroud they're going to already be playing for the Top 4 in all likelihood.

It is going to be tough. Lukaku had dominated the Belgian league as a youngster before his Chelsea and West Brom moves. He scored 17 goals for West Brom at 18/19, any players of that quality and age available right now?
There are players out there better then Giroud and Rooney. Walsh and his crew get paid money to find them. Giroud scores late in games coming on as a sub. People got mad about Rom being lazy, all Giroud has going for him is link up play and headers. He's just as lazy. Not convinced he will ease the loss of goals.

Manchester United have agreed a £75m fee with Everton to sign Romelu Lukaku, according to Sky sources.

Senior Everton sources have told Sky Sports News HQ that no deal has yet been agreed for the 24-year-old but it is understood United remain confident one is close and will be finalised.

Sounds like utd are using jedi mind tricks on this one...

Maybe it's just the upfront fee that's been agreed thus far (£75m) and add-ons and whatever else that goes into transfers these days is still being agreed on. Its not often that the press are being fed two entirely different things from the two sides when it comes to something as black and white as agreeing a fee.

Yeah this makes no sense at all. It's agreed but no deal has been agreed yet. Sound

After getting £28Mill for Fellaini years ago and paying £30mill for Pickford and Keane this seems like buttons for him to me. The balls in his court now. It's been nice to have a forward who actually knows how to score goals.
