Whilst we might feel aggrieved at the figure being reported, but definitely not confirmed at the time of going to press despite speculation from the usual rumourmongers in the media, his leaving for pastures new is no big surprise to us

In fact it is something we have known to be inevitable for a while now.

Chelsea are the fans more entitled to be bitchin' bout this.

They thought they had Lukaku in the bag.

By all accounts Conte chucked a wobbly, demanding Chelsea sign him no matter the cost.

And now they face being gazumped by United lol

Not only might they lose out on Rom....the manager might walk.

I am loving it.
Add in the fact it was Mourinho who agreed to sell him and without either a buy back clause or sell on fee - you'd be fuming as a Chelsea fan.

Get that... but the market at that time didnt reflect that sort of silly money being available or on offer.

Nearly £30m for a kid at time was damned good money for us.

Yes and no. The world record fee at the time was 46M paid 3 years earlier. Veron went to Man utd in 2001 for 28 and a bit million.

So for a kid 25 million (the amount we got upfront) looks good but in that Euro's he looked like he would become the best player in the world, obviously being 18 having a whole career ahead of him, the fee was not as much as I hoped and I think many felt the same. 35M would have been probably right.

Judging by what Moshiri has told his idiot sock puppet to report on Sky, you'd have to think that it's simply a case of Everton wanting either the fee to remain officially undisclosed, or for it to be stressed that there are also add-ons.

£75m is an incredible figure. More than what our mates across the park ended up getting for Suarez.

He said Moshiri won't accept a penny less (£100m) for Lukaku. Sandro was on a five-year deal (four year deal in fact) and would wear no.9 too.

While he said a deal was not agreed I guess the upfront fee was agreed but not the add ons.
