"Everton can win the Premier League"

if we were to seal the title on Moyes return visit, I hope there is no triumphalism. That's not our way, a quiet smile, ten minutes to enjoy it, and then it's on to the next bauble.

Haha. Joking about us and Moyes ? There would be hundreds there waiting for him to arrive.

Tell you what, I don't expect us to be serious contenders come April but when you watch stuff like that dross last night, we've got a chance to stay in touch.

Think Man City will walk it providing they keep up their improved away form. They're crushing all teams at home.

I think with our resources it's going to take a massive effort this season to finish in the top four. Surely every side has a bad spell ? Three games without a win after Xmas and we could be adrift of a tight top four.

Surely some good reinforcements would give us a great chance though.

Beginning.... just beginning... to feel a bit like 1985.

I'll come back to comment if I still feel the same way after New Years Day.

Statto thinks we're in with a shout tho'

That Arsenal Chelsea game was TERRIBLE. I was sat in the pub (at 9 am) with a load of those teams fans. Hardly a cheer or even a ripple of excitement. Mind numbing dross.

Yeah, I'd say we are not unentitled to realistically harbouring top 4 ambition.

Pft you're joking! Hundreds??? More like THOUSANDS :D And everyone will be singing 'Are you watching David Moyes' Goodness I'd premature ejaculate if that happened!

Had a weird dream about the goodison game versus them, he got it very easy even pro moyes, for the life of me I can't remember what the score was.

pretty sure we lost tho.

Well yeah

I didn't enjoy it, was strange cos i'm hyper positive atm with everything everton and I can't see us losing that game.

I have to admit that when I heard Keown say that, my heart sank, my eyes rolled into the back of my head and I screamed for him to shut up. Apparently, Garth Crooks has been giving us plaudits as well, so I'm beginning to think that the cat maybe well and truly out of the bag and teams will up their game especially for us.

I just hope that the fat, kopite, gobsh*te on 5-Live doesn't say anything nice about us or we'll be cursed.

Exclusive – Everton ARE title contenders, insists Gray
By Alex Varney (@LexVarney) | Tuesday, December 31, 2013

Andy Gray says Romelu Lukaku is right to claim that Everton are genuine title contenders.

The Merseyside club are sitting fourth in the table at the halfway stage of the season having been beaten just twice in 19 games, the lowest tally of defeats in the Premier League.

The fine form of Roberto Martinez’s men, who have already enjoyed victories over Chelsea and Manchester United this term, has led Lukaku to suggest the Blues should be considered serious challengers for the championship.

And former Everton striker Gray agrees with the Belgian hitman, telling the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “They [their title chances] are very realistic at the moment.

“My one worry for the rest of the league is Man City find their away form because, if they do find consistency away from home, they might blow everyone away but right now, from what I have seen 19 games in, Everton have got every right [to be considered title challengers].

“I am glad people are mentioning it. I like that Lukaku is saying ‘why not?'

“It is one of those strange years where five or six, maybe even seven teams in the Premier League will think halfway through the season ‘do you know what, if we get lucky, a couple of things go our way, we get a right decision here and there, we might just have a chance.'

“This might be a surprising year when one of the really big boys don’t win it.”
