Wow. There should be no business finance issues whatever after this season finishing in the top 6 never mind 4 with CL on top
Clearly the odds of it happening are astronomical, but imagine if we were top of the league at 4.55pm on 11th May...
What do we do then? I mean, do we all just top ourselves? Because realistically, it's not like life is going to get much better
There should also be no issues with buying players from the coming Summer onwards, at least not for the foreseeable future.
We are doing just fine. We're two points off top, ffs! When was the last time Everton were within 2 points (or less) of first, heading into xmas eve?
Im just saying, as response to making our draws into wins. I agree we are awesome, but 1 player of that type and i would believe we would win the pr.league this year.
Those figures are unbelievable.
And didn't the Overseas rights (OTV) go up by even MORE than 100% in the end?
Amazed is not the word. It would be arguably the greatest footballing accomplishment of the last 20+ years... Certainly in this country, at any rate.As an arl git who remembers the 84/85 success, cant see too many parallels in this year, apart from an injection of determination and a "we won't get beat we're gonna win this" attitude. Kendall had been at the club as manager since '81 and by the time of the league cup match v Coventry losing 1-0 in '83 there were people calling for him to be sacked - then we get out of jail and win 2-1 going on to the final (ok we lost to the s...e) - even more famous was the Kevin Brock backpass to Heath after we had gone 1-0 behind. We won the replay 4-1 and of course won the cup. Thus was the confidence cemented in the team and the rest is history. I think that we can win the FA cup next year but I would be amazed if we won the Premier in RM's first season. Champions league should be our ambition but we need lady luck to shine on us given the size of our squad and the amount of money we have in comparison to our nearest competitors. However I can say that I am loving going to the match this season - and the times I felt like this have been a bit infrequent since the 80's success Viva Roberto!!
