i heard that too... what a great buzz we have this year. although today, 4-1 looked a bit flattering for us at least we are converting more of our chances.

top 4 would be a dream, would be excellent... and hopefully ROM would choose to stay aswell... providing we can afford him
As for all of our draws, for most of them, it has been a case of unfortunate not to win rather than lucky not to lose. That bodes well and we can hopefully improve on that.
As for squad depth, most of those around us have bigger squads but are also still in Europe, hence more games. We have a smaller squad but less games to play. Relatively speaking, are we any worse off?
In goal, defensively and in midfield we look as strong as anyone. In attack, we are rather light-weight. For all of his goals, Lukaku has been somewhat inconsistent in his general performances. Still, he's still been scoring goals so good enough. If he gets injured then who will replace him?
Will we win the league? Slim chance and highly doubtful. But out of the last 25 years, this could well be out best chance!!! Realistically, I'll be chuffed to bits to just finish in the top four.

We're going to win the league, screw all this managing expectations crap I've never seen an Everton side with this good of a chance at doing something special in the league and I'm not going to miss the chance to go a bit mental thinking of what could happen. If we do crash and burn then at least I enjoyed the ride while we were on the up and I don't have doubts that maybe my negativity was in some part to blame. Seriously, if we start believing it then maybe Martinez and the players will start believing it too and it might make them start acting like champions.
There's another thing too, I can't be arsed with all of this flying under the radar bull**** because we've been flying under the radar for 20 years now, I want us to show up as a big **** off circle like the alien ship in indepenence day. I want Martinez to say we're going to win the title every week in his press conferences then after we've beat the RS 21-0 at Wembley in April after having already won the title the week before I want Martinez to show up at the post match press conference with a big **** off grin on his face, say "We're Everton aren't we?" and walk out into the sunset with Z cars playing because it was never in doubt. If we want to be at the top we're going to have to learn how to deal with the spotlight sometime so we might as well deal with it now.
It's a slim chance and I know we always do things the hard way but we're Everton aren't we?

I like this post. I think its o.k to be a bit deluded for a change because like you said its been far too long since we got excited in the league. Someone mentioned on Sunday that they forgot about the fa cup 3rd round draw because we are still in the mix in the league and that's absolutely spot on. We are usually about 15-20 points off top spot, 4-8 points off fourth and at this time starting to concentrate on the fa cup. I say **** em all and do the double to piss everyone off. Everton aren't we.
