"Everton can win the Premier League"

I refer back to Roberto 'God' Martinez, 1.94 points average across the year will guarantee you a top 4 spot. 37 points after 19 games, basically.

If anything i think we'll get stronger as the season goes on, even if injuries hit us, because the strength in our team lies just as much in the tactics employed my Martinez as the personnel themselves.

I like how he's developed competition and players are seizing their chance. It sounds like Baines is desperate to get back in the side but I don't think it's fair to drop Oviedo back to being his deputy. So we might see Oviedo being used as a winger while Deulofeu is out.

Alcaraz, Heitinga, Hibbert and Stones will be itching to show what they can do. So we have defence well covered. I think that Naismith and Jelavic could have a part to play this season. We do need more senior forwards though and hopefully we can address that next month.

Under the radar is a remnant of the previous regime, Martinez knows we're boss and wants everybody who supports us to know it too.

WE ARE BOSS.

Yes mate. Confidence breeds confidence. Us as fans have been shafted for so long that we dare not dream. You know what I ****ing love, when elders on here say they see similarity's to the mid 80's team. That will do me all day long because when an Evertonian has seen teams from the 60's and 80's and can see a snippet of something shaping up like that then I ain't gonna disagree mate.

does anyone else get the feeling that good players will WANT to come to Everton

By your definition, I am an elder and I do sense similarities. Mind you, the money involved these days buys 'sky 4' a lot of immediate talent. However, as Spurs and Chelski have shown/are showing, paper dollar worth does not always translate seamlessly on to the grass pitch

Yes mate. Can we pay transfer fees ( I certainly believe we can pay good wages to most players apart from 5-6 pl teams ) but if we are in for a player and can afford the transfer fee I would look at Everton and say they are a ****ing great club to sign for. Not a stepping stone either, a club that can and will challenge for honours and CL football and a team spirit that 90% of players would thrive on

Screw this 'MAYBE we can get top 4'.

4 points off first. That's where they currently sit. After playing EVERY top team bar Southampton. If the team beats the teams they should in the next 7 games(damn straight I'm including the ****e)why CAN'T they be first?

And yes I know I should know better. But so should you ask. 0 wins in 44 attempts against the 'sky 4'. 1 win and 1 draw in two attempts now.

This is going to end in tears, I just know it..

no-one on the bench who can come on and change a game mate.

Hope you didn't take offence with the elder thing mate, I'm 35,so I would say anyone 40+ would remember the great days of the 80's. And your right about the sky 4 thing. I've always been a believer though that you can coach players to be disciplined yet be able to express themselves and not be intimidated. Martinez has took all the good work Moyes done with the discipline and then said "**** these shackles, you play with a round ball against other men so do what your paid to do and pass that ****er around, it ain't a hot potato ffs",but obviously more cultured than I have put it. Football is 30% skill and 70% mental attitude and its that 70% that Martinez taps into. There's a reason why low league teams can beat top sides as on any day anyone can beat anyone. A week later that lower league side gets battered because mentally they can't produce the effort required week in and week out. Prem players can and that's why they play at the top because they have that mental strength. We have it, we have had it for a few years now but Martinez is just unlocking it and we are now reaping the benefits.

Fuuny, cos I was pretty sure Mirallas came off the bench and scored today, plus I recall Ossie coming and take the piss the other week, then lets not forget Deofy getting us a point at Arse.

But yeah, nobody.

Mirallas will start now deulofeu is out.
Osman can not change a game lad. People who win the league come from 2-0 down away and win 3-2. Sticking Osman on will not do this.
