HEY DAVEY

Worst case scenario for me would be if both Fellaini and Baines are sold it must be for 42m ish...Felli 25m Baines 17m.

i would also sell Heits for 3m and buy the following.

Siqueira 12m
Alderweireld 5m
Marrone 7m
McCarthy 10m
Moses 8m

Total 42m

As mentioned in the other thread you posted this.

Nuts. Absolute mental.

I'm not concerned because were the highest in the food chain only second to Madrid.

Keep believing that lad... That's why thiago went to bayern, and no other top player has any nearest in joining you.

To ssn un may be, to actual footballers you aren't in the Madrid, bayern or barca league

This bit

Martínez also denied Moyes's suggestion that Everton had leaked details of United's bid, which valued Fellaini at £16m and Baines at £12m. "The bid appeared in the paper before it arrived to us," he said. "And I heard that in the past Everton never sold cheap. The last thing I want is to get into a war with a manager I really respect. But the business should be done more quietly. It's unfortunate when you read it in the papers and people talk about your players. I could give you half an hour about my views about how other clubs are being run and how they have not been able to do any deals despite looking all over the world."

I wonder if Dithering Dave's love-orbs are still hurting after that one

His release clause comes back to 23m for a month EVERY window, so will be 23m in Jan

I thought the reason for the clause was to give us time to find a replacement (which makes Moyes' bid even more insulting). Would seem a bit pointless if a club could sign him on 31st January when it's arguably more difficult to find a replacement.

I presumed the release fee in Fellaini's contract came into play every summer (maybe for a part of January too). I'd be made up if its over with now, hope thats true.

If we do sell Fellaini and replace him with McCarthy, will almost certainly will be paying £15m for him. While I don't think he's worth that, he does suit the way Martinez plays and he is Wigan's most important player, so we'll need to accept that.

I know for the January transfer window the clause expired 10 days before the end of the window and I think that was the reason with the confusion this window with Fellaini's clause. I think the bid had to be made by the 31st July and the deal completed by the 14th August.

No insight whatsoever whether the clause will be valid in other windows going forward.

It is really interesting how a bit of media pressure is starting to expose Moyes and show that it has always been about him and not Everton. I think a lot of people assumed that he had some deep attachment to Everton, he doesn't and probably never did.

IMO the one thing he does have attachment to are the players he has brought through, hence why his pride was hurt over the Lescott affair. It was never about Everton losing Lescott it was about Moyes losing him and after the way Moyes left us I am not surprised how he is handling the Fellaini/Baines situation. As far as he is concerned they are his players and he wants them back. He was forced to sell his top players at Everton and it really pissed him off, hence why he doesn't feel like he owes the club anything now; Kenwright made him sell players under his tenure so he feels that he can now be the one to benefit from that situation.

I think Fellaini will probably go and given he is one of our better players and we are approaching the end of the transfer window that should mean Utd will have to pay over the market rate, I think 25M. Baines is older so is worth less but given he is four years younger than Evra it is still worth Utd buying him. I think 15M is fair. As a joint bid it will probably be less, maybe 35M.
I would rather them stay as I can't see us getting in replacements that are suitable with the transfer window about to close.

Interesting post, and some reasonable views, but I don't know were your idea comes from that if you buy two players from one club you get a discount on the individual value! Next thing, Moyes will be bidding low for three players, or eventually a whole team, at a knock down price ( Moyes; ' Hello Brenda...I'll give you £75 million for your first eleven....take it or leave it') Seriously,I think that Moyes has already begun to understand that the United job, into which he was coerced by Fergie, is a job too far for him, and he would have been better off staying in his cosy nest at Everton, bull****ting his way to his annual £3 million or so a year.....boats are well and truly burned on that one now, and I think he's on the way back to the Championship, his true level, within 12 months.

Surely that is illegal? I thought a buying club wasn't allowed to contact a player unless the selling club agreed.

Bit like Ferguson asking Moyes to his home and telling him is going to be the next utd manger without informing the club first and whilst he's still under contract to us
