Roberto Martinez has denied report that Leighton Baines has asked #EFC to do a deal with #MUFC for his exit

It's probably redundant as he is almost certainly going to join United, but for me the best way to play Fellaini is alongside a disciplined holding midfielder (i.e. Gibson) who gives him the freedom to run riot.

While he isn't blessed with great pace, he does have excellent stamina and is able to affect the game all over the park when he isn't saddled with a specific job, be it in front of the defence or up in attack. He wins the ball as well as anybody and has an excellent short passing game, and when Gibson is next to him he's still able to contribute in the final third.

I can't understand why anyone would want to restrict such a handful of a player to one area of the pitch when he could be causing chaos all over the place.

Fair enough, mate. But to answer your last question, it's because it's in the last third of the pitch where the money shot takes place. His short passing game doesn't cause half as much damage when he's doing it in his own half.

I like it as a plan B, but I'm still hoping to see Everton play regularly with a proper no.10 (could end up being Barkley).

seems like we are in for Tom Ince. Fair Play. If we keep Deulofeu on the right wing, stick Mirallas up front with Kone, and have Ince as a forward threat we are in for a good season. I just hope we can sign players like Deulofeu without getting them on loan. He's class.

That's a better opening bid.

I think £40m will secure them both if true, but it has to be at least £35m in hard cash.

Its too late to replace the quality of them both 40 million a few weeks ago may have been ok but this bid will come in very late DM needs to get lost! most of the good midfielders have been snapped up by Spurs etc its just to upset our manager and team !!!!

Fellaini isn't a good midfielder?
