For a player to be good he needs to be involved in a bidding war? some serious bs being talked about there

Read the rest of thread for the context pal. Don't walk in halfway through a conversation thinking yopu know what's what.

One of your chaps started this line of thought, saying that Baines clearly wasn't better than Evra because there was no-one else bididng for him. He seems to have conceded that it was a silly remark, don't you start too x x x

Getting into the England team proves your a good player? oh please. He has blossomed into a fantastic player in his late thirties he hasn't always been this good. He's literally kept our midfield from being above average for the last two years but hey if a Belguim who can barely control a football and just elbows and fouls people and is just physical you rate him higher that what do I know?

Because so many teams are fighting to get Fellaini of likkle everton right? 23m ****ing having a laugh. theres a reason no on wants him aaprt from desperate moyes who has ****ed up our window
Don't have him then. We will be here, happily overrating our players and you can be in Salford overrating yours. Both of us happy in the knowledge we have good players in every position.

in tears at the Manc claiming Carrick and Rafael are excellent players.

Almost Kopite delusion, next he'll be saying Phil Jones is world class

Not as a barometer of greatness; you used the description "one of the best in England" - so I just used caps as a token of how he isn't the greatest thing since sliced Gerrard you seem to think he is.

He's been a "good" player his entire career, but calling him one of the best is ridiculous. He's "good", in the same way Gareth Barry and Scott Parker are "good". They're all in the same bracket.

Is that why Barry is going to everton a scot parker plays for fulham?

If he was that good he would be playing for you week in week out but he doesn't. When I have seen him play he has been very poor and inconsistent so no I wouldn't waste our money to have him here

Fergie didn't play him last year as he didn't sign a new contract. He's rarely played for us the last 2 years and has had bad injury problems.

Crazy isn't it? City obviously brought in better players than Barry and Spurs brought in better players that Parker.

Maybe you should be considering bringing in better players than Carrick?

But we'll see in May when you're struggling in 3rd and wondering why oh why your midfield gets overrun in Europe and the bigger domestic games.

If I were a United fan, I'd be scared silly about the future if Michael Carrick is the great white hope.

Shows how much you know. Hargo was average in midfield for us. He was so average to accomodate him we played him right wing and right back.

Engalnd did the same with him in 2006 - he was ridiculously versatile, pacy, had great ball control, massive engine, excellent tackler, sound positional sense, good with free kicks: he was the complete package. That's why you signed him for over £20m iirc. Injuries derailed his career, and had he stayed fit he would have got 80+ caps for England, and would have ousted Carrick from your lineup.

It's worrying that we have more knowledge about United than they do.

Not surprising, but worrying.

Using England and the way we play as a barometer of greatness  Paul Scholes couldn't get a game in his best position either

I agree with a lot of what you're saying here pal. Talking sense in the most part.

As a few have said, yourself I think, the team was greater than the sum of it's parts and Ferguson was the difference there.

We see a lot of our players as you do yours. I can't say I've ever been too Impressed by Rafael but if I'm watching I wouldn't pay too much attention too him anyway.

Fellaini and Carrick would be a very good pairing for you if it happened.
