We were nothing under him; no success; also rans with no stomach for a big game. But a pat on the head now and then from Sky Sports apparently impresses some.

No mate we were nothing in the premier league before him. How anyone can look at the squad and league position when he came in and the squad and league position he left with and claim that no progress had been made is beyong me. God forbid Martinez had arrived in 2002 and tried to get that motley crew playing tippy tappy. martinez has only got half a shot at being successful here because of the standard of the squad Moyes left behind. Rebuilding Everton from what we were in 2002 was going to be a long painful job for whoever did it. We should just be glad Moyes stuck at it rathe than a succession of quick fix Di Canio type managers who woul be in for a season or two blow a load of money and leave us in the same place. We could be in excatly the same position as we were back then but 11 years would have passed. Instead our new manager has a chance to have a crack at European football. Yeah a trophy would have been nice but only a deluded fool is not able to see the work Moyes did for us. They might perceive that it didn't go far enough for their high standards, but anyone who thinks we're worse off now than before Moyes came in needs to cast a glance at some of the league tables from 1998-2002.

Fellaini leaving just guarantees Osman playing every minute of every game until 2016.
With such a crass statement, how do you expect to be taken seriously on this forum ?
Before the demise of kipper I could come on here and have a balanced and sensible debate regardless of opinions and ego's.
Sadly I now have to read utter drivel such as this.
Even if the post is meant to be taken 'tongue in cheek'.

Yeah but it's sooooooo funny m8.

so if the papers are correct 45 mill for baines and fellaini , what do we think ?. personally i think its a great deal for the club as long as martinez gets ALL of it . he can certainly transform our side with that as he was left an ageing squad by moyes.

£50m cash or no deal, take it or leave it,Everton players don't come cheap.

There was progress. I hate using it as a yardstick but you have to remember what we were like before he came, and my fear is that Martinez won't match the 'achievements' of Moyes.

Top 6 finishes were what impressed people. Lets see Roberto improve on that, then he will get the credit he deserves.

So if I'm reading this right, Moyes wants to derail us, so he is going to wait until the 11th hr to bid on Fellaini, knowing full well what Kenwright's sell price is.

Moyes gets Fellaini, gives Roberto no time to find a replacement, which allows Bill to bank the money till January.

Don't believe it.
