Everton confirm rejecting 28M for both Fellaini and baines

Utter madness. We've moved him constantly due to our lack of depth in midfield - he's only playing DM at the moment due to Gibson's absence. With everyone fit, he'd be playing CM instead of Osman. Selling Felli for £25m might be an accurate reflection of his TRUE value, but it would ignore the fact that we have 24 hours to sign a replacement, it would fail to take full advantage of United's desperation, it does not reflect the fact that he would walk into United's CM berth and instantly improve their first XI, and it does not reflect his true value to US. If he goes now, he must only go for BIG money. Look at the Bale situation - Spurs aren't saying "Now now, £80m? He's only worth £30m, that will be plenty.", are they? No, they're holding out for every last penny they can get. FFS.

There is an argument that Baines is at his peak in terms of transfer value now, and I agree with that. However, once again, you are ignoring the true value he holds in THIS team. He is worth FAR more than £15m to us, and it would cost more than £15m to replace every facet of his play - penalty taker, free kick taker, leading assists man, top 3 LB: so if anyone wants him they should be paying through the nose for him. And at this late stage in the window too? £25m at least, or we keep him and get four more years out of the best LB in the prem.

Too early to judge the new signings, particularly when you consider they have barely played. I think we are still going on predictions here, rather than evidence of performance in an Everton shirt. Having said that, I share your fear - with the exception of Deulofeu, who I suspect will be a top, top player in years to come.

Maybe I didn't word my post correctly, what I meant was he arrived as a box-to-box player....was played as a support forward. Then moved back, then forward again etc etc....none of us know which is his best position.

Defensive midfield -- he isn't a 'killer' there.
Box to Box -- He doesn't have a long passing range or long shots like a toure
Support forward/attacking midfield -- barkley should be in there anyway.

So its a tricky one to pick his best position. This may have put off potential buyers ?

Is it bollocks lad. Only 1 club wants hm, and they don't think he's worth anywhere near that.

Kenwright has shafted the mancs

25 mil was a reasonable offer a month ago, not 36 hours before the window though. Though I agree with you, without another interested party he is worth what someone wants to pay

Its clear fellaini is going and will be replaced with mccarthy. Our midfield lacks energy and mccarthy will bring that. Shame it wont be to compliment fellaini but weve got to get used to it.
It's hard to predict what will happen but this morning it has started to look like Felli's on his way. Gonna be very, VERY difficult for us to buy someone as good as him.

No, but its our fault we haven't invested much of the extra income like the rest of the Premier League have done.

Arsenal?
The transfer window is weird, most of it is done in the last 2 days so there's time if Martinez knows who he wants.

Who would be happy with;

Fellaini out for 25mil

Will Hughes 5mil James McCarthy 10mil + Barry on loan

Baines out for 15mil

Bruno Martins IndI 10mil ?

With 15mil on a forward ?

If Felli goes and we have Delafou playing in his place every game, plus 25 mil in the bank or whatever, that sounds good to me. Got a year to find permanent cover.

I am still not sure what Moyes seen in Fellaini to put a mental offer in (for Everton). He's a good all round player but he's hardly set the world alight.

He's a fine player but, big but, he's got to put that in week-in week-out and not be petulant or throw those elbows about. Perhaps with so many others for the opposition to worry about in the Man U team he will thrive.

McCarthy and Barry have scored a grand total of 13 goals between them in the last 4 full seasons.

We need goals, creativity and excitement not tidy defensive midfielders.

You're saying that we're going to replace our 6ft5 defensive midfielder, with a young skinny unproven pacey winger?

This whole transfer window has been an absolute joke, and I fear it will leave us having undone the 10 years of progress that Moyes achieved at the club.

We were nothing under him; no success; also rans with no stomach for a big game. But a pat on the head now and then from Sky Sports apparently impresses some.
