RM will never send a team out to deliberately lose - however if the Goodison roar is subdued the players will not be as spurred on , and anyway if City want to be champions they have to beat us - 4th has gone now its a pipe dream by RM that it is mathematically possible - My Brother is going today with his son, and he reckons there is a big split on whether he wants us to win - a good performance and a defeat will do according to him, and the Palace to win on Monday so they can not moan we have let them down would be perfect!

Correct. I think he took the view that they had played second fiddle for so long it was not just enough for them to improve and have a turn in the sun. It was also to see us become second fiddle full stop. Think them getting promoted while we were relegated in mid fifties and then process reversed when we came back up must have been tasty too. Haven't checked but I think that is what happened. Mainly Shankley's influence IMO though.

It wasn't quite like you say.

Oh, just in case it's been forgotten, Crystal Palace/Liverpool is refereed by Clattenburg. So anyone hoping we could beat City and Palace can pull off the upset later as an ideal scenario may as well leave that fantasy at the door.
I did not know this and it's so how the RS work. Balls to it then. If City don't beat us that game will feature at least 3 penalties for them.

I change my mind every 5 minutes. Really want GP to be buzzing one last time in what has been a really enjoyable season. But the thought of them winning the title makes me ill. But if I feel good at us losing and then Arsenal lose...... Noooooo!!

This is exactly how I am feeling.

Ok so we did go up season they went down but not in reverse? Ok , only remember dad mentioning pain of relegation but sweet revenge when we came back up. Makes sense.

I want us to win today but, as Bob says, it's better our neighbours win the league with our help, rather than without it. Besides, the romantic in me thinks it would be nice for those who lost loved ones to have something to celebrate on the 25th anniversary of Hillsborough. I don't care how dyed-in-the-blue-wool you are, you'd have to be very hard-hearted not to have that thought somewhere in the back of your mind.

I must be "hard hearted" then because it would never enter my head to link the tragedy with them winning the league this season and the most distasteful thing recently ha been Rodgers doing just that.
