It is becoming abundantly clear to me that this issue means a lot more to the people whom actually live in the Merseyside area and have to live in the wake of the "aftermath".

If the TX in your name stood for Toxteth rather than, I presume, Tejas then you most probably would be somewhat "concerned" with it :p

That's very true. Don't get me wrong. In my years of supporting Everton, it didn't take long to acquire a distaste for the red side of the city. They actually made it very easy which is pretty damming of them considering I didn't have any preconceived biases or notions about LFC before I started supporting Everton.

So yeah, I'd rather they not win it but if they do, fair play to them. I just want to see us grab that fourth spot.

Might not even get to that. If City beat Liverpool this weekend, title race is over.

We can but hope.

Chelsea progressing in the CL is another blow.

If they were to fall off the pace over the next couple weeks then the chances are they will play a weakened team at Mordor, a game which falls right in between the two semi final legs.

Chelsea will comfortably get a draw there, they have a very deep squad. Even if they rest the likes of Eto, Hazard, Oscar, Ramirez etc. They'll play Torres/Ba, Willian, Matic, Mikel, Luiz, Schurrle etc. They'll easily get a draw with those cloggers in defensive midfield.

To me Chelsea going through is the insurance policy against United drawing 4 games and winning two penalty shootouts - I think Chelsea would beat them as they'll be prepared for what they come up against

So what if us beating City meant we we're guaranteed 3rd, but it also confirmed that Liverpool would win the league? Discuss.

we don't care what the Red 'Side' say...personally I don't give a monkeys if they end up beating Chels or City to the title (I shouldn't say this either here, but maybe they even deserve it...).

I DO however give a monkeys about us finishing as high up the table as poss, playing in Europe, putting the club on a pedestal for purchasers, attracting / retaining better players and adding to our summer war chest
