I think the home fans have been terrible, but at the end of the day the players and manager are the ones who are accountable. And while it's cliché, if someone pays £500+ a year to watch Everton, they are more than entitled to cheer, boo or unnecessarily slag of Barkley if they want.

Being at the match today there is no way you can persuade me that the atmosphere is anything other than absolutely toxic and negative to our players

Doesn't excuse the players. Doesn't excuse the results. Doesn't excuse the manager. But I think it's the worst home atmosphere of any premier league ground

You can sense it through radio/tv as well.

Our fans are getting called "spoilt" (which I don't personally agree with) and other adjectives that fans wouldn't want to be called.

I just thought it was an interesting vote David, given the volume of votes cast.

1.3k votes in, hence me asking if its possible if we have 1 on here.

It's twitter = all non-Evertonians.

Null and void...and it's a loaded question from that demented fool....and its right after a loss.

Hopeless.

Wouldn't call it spoilt. Would call it unforgiving. Absolutely no support, no chanting no backing to our side. If we are playing badly we still need support. I am frustrated as anyone having paid 35 pound for that performance but the squad need the fans behind them. Even villa aren't as awful!

Just replying in here so as not be off topic in the manager thread.

To me it is pure dumb spending your hard earned money to go and see your team win, and then act in a manner which is completely unhelpful to the team in their attempt to get that win.

Its even worse when the team of full of young players.

Sorry, but I hate the crap booing and moaning.[/QUOTE

Sorry but I can't agree, fans pay what in some cases is a significant part of their income to watch their team. But more than the money they have invested a significant part of themselves in that club. To sit and clap poor performances is hypocritical.
The young players are the very best of the best, they get paid fortunes, they have the best facilities and they are required to produce on match days. There are plenty young men and women working 40 hours a week for far less money than young footballers, they get shouted at when they under preform and they get sacked.
I have sympathy for the team getting stick frm fans but the way to stop it Isn't to complain about it, get your heads down and get it sorted.

I'll tell you what: people asking if Lukaku et al will stay in the summer. Would you if you're own fans were an asset for the opposition?

I would have thought its more likely the position we finish and progress we make will influence his decision that rather than the crowd being negative. The root of the problem isn't the fans.

I think we are spiralling in a rapidly quickening vicious circle whereby negative crowd atmosphere and poor player performance feeds upon itself. A reset is needed to break this negative feedback loop. What that reset is, is fairly evident to me. Having said that, I have become so indifferent to Everton nowadays, that I cannot really be arsed lending too much contemplation to matters. We won't be relegated and my expectations of Everton have been effectively manipulated lower to "we're a 10th-15th ranked team"...just as the PL table evidences.

It's all linked.

The question that need asking is why are the crowd the way they are,
Style of play,results, team selection.
I was sitting there bored and getting more irate as the first half went on.

What was there to get excited about ?
Watching us repeat the same mistakes over and over again .
The crowd will react when they see something to react to not before were not as daft as some like to think we are, all the bull about how good we are isn't reflected on the pitch and we can see right though the charade.
The team put the effort in and the results the crowd will get behind them.
