We go away to Manchester City, keep a clean sheet against a team who have a superb goal scoring record and yet some of our so called fans still have it in for Martinez even after that result.

We have conceded 9 goals away from home, but conceded more than double that at Goodison. Our fans suck the positivity from the players with their abuse and poor support.

I can believe this. The crowd sucked my positivity out of me today. Crazy. Goodison can be electric when it wants.

Wasn't a great game for us today at all but I don't think we were playing negative, boring football to warrant the negative atmosphere.

I think it's an absolute disgrace the way the fans rip into Ross.
Disgusting.
You may pay your money at the gate, but are you a customer or a supporter?
To be fair, we, as supporters, matter less and less with every television contract going out.

And I concur btw about Ross. He's almost literally the guy every one of us want/wanted to be.

There are a few groans when he makes an awful decision with a pass, I'd hardly say it's ripping into him.
I've heard enough anecdotal evidence to suggest there's a systematic issue at hand.
He didn't do much wrong today but the crowd was already moaning and groaning when he did a back pass in the 20th minute, the right decision I might add too as there wasn't much going on ahead of him and he had a man on his back.

You know what: even if the poor Goodison atmosphere didn't affect the performance of the players, it affects my experience of a fan going the game, and puts me off going to expense and effort of returning.

Today I thought wtf did i pay £50 (inc expenses) to come here for? Literally more atmosphere in the pub.

As soon as we get singing I'm buzzing but soon enough I'm left singing "ev-er-t..." on my own in a section of thousands of fans, shortly followed by some grumpy bast**d screaming abuse at John Stones or one of our other stars that we're lucky to have!

The smallest away crowds have make more noise than us.

We need to sort this out.

The only time you'll find me boo, is if Martinez does something like take off mirallas and leave that waste of space in Barkley on, like he did last week against Chelsea (well tried), but if fans want to boo, and heckle, then they're entitled to, they've all paid a lot of money to watch the rubbish being served, we aren't all rich, so I can understand their frustration.

Having read that post I find it very hard to believe that is the ONLY time youyou'll boo.

Ross Barkley, a waste of space, behave.

I've thought about this before posting as it would have been easy to offer a knee jerk reaction to yesterdays poor performance. But when I listen to the boo boys telling me not to clap my team off the field I realise that their undertsanding of what a supporter is. The same idiot constantly cries out for our players to "brake their f**king legs". So this is the level we seem to have sunken.
I do realise and understand the disappointment we all feel because I feel it too.
Was RM right to say what he said no. Should the fans boo not me but if you feel the need go ahead and do it. But when you see players reacitng like Howard and Stones have don't complain they have the right of reply.
So my final plea is lets get behind the team and encourage them.

Feel exactly the same mate. Considering swerving my season ticket off next season. We aren't performing the best on the pitch but it's the atmosphere in the stadium which is driving me away. Apart from idiots getting on our own players backs it's like sitting in the doctors going to Goodison now. Even the semi final was nothing special.

I'll vent frustration, but never boo. What's the point? But if you pay money to go watch Everton, then you should be entitled to express. It's not a dictatorship, it's following something you love.

Seriously, the love for Barkley is ridiculous. He's an immense talent, but only shows up when he feels like it. Yesterday, he was once again annonymous, people never slag off Barkley, but if it was Cleverley, Kone etc... Who's played that bad for the last few games, this place would be in meltdown.

The booing of the players isn't helping!! I get that people want to vent and are massively frustrated and I agree you should be allowed too, but through all the booing of the team it isn't exactly giving them the kick up the arse needed!! Do we have to resort to a singing section to actually get an atmosphere at goodison again?! I'm actually tempted to not got the game against Newcastle as you can tell its going to be awful and toxic if the ball goes back to howard in the first 5 minutes!! Hopefully we sign a quality player who will spur us on but lets be realistic it isn't gonna happen

How does that work? What do you even mean by that? Are you saying he showed up yesterday and said can´t be arsed? Couldn´t it more likely be that he is young and will be inconsistent?

It´s ridiculous to be positive and supportive of a young blue with lots of talent? Ridiculous posts.

The atmosphere at most "big" clubs is dire these days. People pay a lot of money to go, and if they don't see their team winning and playing sparkling football they get hacked off very quickly. It's one of the reasons why I don't miss it as much as I should.

This isn't a new phenomenon though, I remember walking out of a game in 1992 against Coventry and saying to my dad that I wouldn't be returning because I was sick of our fans' negativity.
