For me our performances are not crap overall which is why fans getting so carried away at times is counter productive at the moment. We are playing really well attack wise most games although our final ball is still quite poor imo. We are also dropping changers galore defensively which of course does lead to frustration. The question is does quick and vocal criticism help eradicate the defensive lapses or not? When it is focussed on individuals, especially young lads probably not. I do not see anyone skiving or trying to make mistakes in that team. I see a really good team in the making which is more likely to materialise with consistent loud vocal support rather than leaping on errors or a bit of risk taking. I would drop Koné at the moment and give Robles a run but let's dish it out a bit more to the opponents and the refs rather than our own lads eh?Home games are terrible, the crap performances don't help like.
One woman who sits by me just sits there all game shouting abuse at Barkley. The only conclusion I can think of is that Barkley banged her daughter and then swerved her.
They should probably put the ball in the back of the opposition net more then the other way around to be fair ladI was obviously taking the piss calling us Geordies but I may have been inadvertently right.
Come on lids, be fierce but not on the players.
Oh Lordy.Don't let forum talk cloud your judgement though. A lot of Everton fans on here are international and this forum is used as a place to vent and whinge. The authentic Evertonians, the ones at Goodison are not overated
At Goodison: 20 goals conceded, 1 clean sheet.
Away: 9 goals conceded, 4 clean sheets.
Just my opinion but the style of football played ( the pass pass pass pass pass concede pass pass pass score score concede concede lose or draw ) football has a huge amount to do with the fans reaction.
Just in case anyone wonders why the majority of home fans are about to implode (that's 7 year olds, kids with dad's, dad's with mums, mums with daughters, daughters with boyfriends and so on) is because we DONT WIN A [Poor language removed] GAME AT HOME ( well maybe once in a blue moon and hopefully that's a hint to a win on Wednesday )
Don't [Poor language removed] the players off, don't blame Bobby, blame the pitch man, blame the steward who tells you to sit down, blame the fit bird who says there's no more walkers grab bags left, blame everyone but yourself you cheeky over demanding Evertonian expecting your team to win once in a while you cheeky little sod for expecting a win perhaps once every 5 games. We beat Sunderland 6-2 and Villa 4-0 you cheeky little twit.
Christ on a bike is it that hard to understand when we've gone 18 months with an absolute embarrassing ratio of winning games at home that there's gonna be fans who are at the point of slagging everyone and anything off that moves.
Oh [Poor language removed], hang on its the fans fault we are crap.
If you'd care to point out to me any inaccuracy in that statement, I'd like to see it. I made no comment other than posting the bare facts. If you inferred something from them, that's your problem.Yeah, all the fans fault... If only we could play every game away from home. Idiotic comment.

Is it that hard to understand that moaning and grumbling and waiting to turn on a young team who are actually doing a lot right aswell as wrong is in no way going to help the situation?
I'm sorry, but it's dumb. It's self defeating. Want a win after spending 50 quid to go see them? Why not shout abuse at them and boo when things go wrong. That should definitely help get the result we are all supposed to want.
You mention expecting and demanding.....there is part of the problem right there.
Be furious or annoyed or whatever because Howard isnt good enough and has made another error? Yep, of course. Shout abuse at him during the game and therefore affect the mood of the team who are trying to win for you. No. It's pointless. Even worse jeering him before he has even made a mistake. Attention seeking spanners, jumping on whatever the populist complaint is.
It's definitely up for debate whether or not the players have any confidence issues, or whether the club's poor performances at home have anything to do with the fans. I'd say Martinez definitely needs to start setting the team up at home more like he does away.I didn't care for the way you were insinuating the fans are at fault for our poor home form. The reason we're under performing is down to the players and manager. No one else, just them.
There's no poisonous atmosphere at Goodison, the players haven't got any confidence issues whatsoever. Bloody hell, we had a 20 year old centre half twisting inside and out in his own penalty area during stoppage time today. We also had a clown in goal who started mouthing off to the Street End. These aren't the actions of players who lack confidence.

The atmosphere is certainly poisonous at Goodison at the moment, though, and it's ridiculous to deny it. I heard more cheering and singing from the Spurs supporters today -- even when they were down a goal -- and I heard more booing and whistling than cheering from the Everton supporters -- even when we were up a goal. That's poisonous. The players are getting absolutely no support from their "supporters". You may think that's perfectly justified, but it's undeniable at the moment.
If it was quiet, that wouldn't be so bad. The boos and whistling were plenty loud.Where have you been for the past 15 years? We've been out sung by away fans at Goodison season upon season.
The atmosphere is quiet, like almost every other ground in the league. If you want fans jumping around and celebrating defeats at home to Stoke then you're following the wrong club.
If the players are doing what they can, the fans recognise that. Hence they got applauded off for a draw against Palace. There was a good reception at the end of today's game too.
