The best solution would me Mykolenko learning from Digne for half a season. Not playing Godfrey there, out of position and negating the entire left side of our attack.

In an ideal world we'd do that...in an ideal world we'd also sign the RB that we need as well...and the centre midfielder we need.

In that ideal world we sell Gomes and Iwobi for the money it would take to bring in 2 full backs and a defensive midfielder.

The reality though is that we need to sign 3 players...Digne and Mina seem to be the fall guys to get onside with FFP and supply the capital for the rules to be navigated.

Doing that in the middle of the season is a dangerous game Zatman.

Especially when this is all I've seen of our new £17m man.

lol Every one of the worlds top defenders has done this at least once in their careers...VVD, Vidic, Terry, Campbell...we can point fingers at all of them.

I thought we need to keep Godfrey and bring in 3 defenders. Branthwaite knocks that down to just needing the 2 full backs.

This season is a total write off and we'll probably end up around mid table with Jan deals improving us.

Now, if we keep Godfrey at LB and sign Mykolenko who we bring through over the rest of the season.

Then also sign a RB to rotate with Coleman till end of the season that will be a step in the right direction.

As long as both players really push on before next season.

Anyone else seen the links between Digne and Juventus.

What do you reckon? 2 year loan deal with option to purchase for £23m

Absolutely pulled our pants down with Kean

For getting the most out of player sales it is the peak really isn't it.

This is what we should be doing though selling our players at their peak and reinvesting in younger cheaper options. Or else you end up with a squad of old players on big wages and no money coming in... basically how we've been run for the last 5 years.

look at kane, 28 in the summer and city are willing to pay £120m for the lad. Next summer he'll be 29, a year less on his contract and has had a poor season. How much is he worth then? Half of that?

With regards to the benitez/digne bust up you can take it or leave it but I heard the other day digne asked for a transfer a few months ago. Add the fact we've got some kid ready to come in to replace him with how long it takes us to do deals generally, that means to me this has been rumbling on in the background for a while and I'd imagine dignes agent already has a move sorted for him.

Now I'm not defending benitez here I imagine digne wants out because he doesn't like how he's being played but he played because he's a professional and its gotten to boiling point and they've had a bust up and benitez has dropped him because that's they type of person he is and now it looks as if digne doesn't want to play because he probably has a move lined up in January so he's saying he's ill.

The point is though we need to sell badly and unfortunately digne is our best asset to sell in January and let us strengthen because we badly need to strengthen this team. Then Richarlison is our transfer kitty in the summer and DCL is gone the next summer. Thats what I believe will happen and we've just got to hope that whoever is in charge get the transfers right.

That's the complete opposite of what we should be doing. You keep players at their peak, get them performing, and invest around them. If not you just go from one step forward, two back.

The Digne selling wouldn't be an issue if we invested it into more important areas. We haven't. Bentiez created a conflict, then sold and replaced.

We're the only club that can spend £20mill and be exactly the same as when we didnt

Tbh mate that was the one game during this bad run that I thought we did "ok" in.

Front 3 of Gordon, Rondon, Iwobi - conceeded a penalty and should have had a pen ourselves if our spineless players made a point to the ref over Rondon being manhandled in the box.

Palace away has been by far the worst for me!

Tactically inept was plain to see against Brentford. 1 sub. Zero changes formation wise. Then those things were the same hence forth

We need another mobile Midfielder one that possesses some major defensive capabilities and can pass a ball. Also for the love of god a right back. New Winger would be cool as well. To me although Luca has been on the decline he isnt the priority to replace. Also the lb from Ukraine is an odd choice I thought the reason we didnt recruit a right back as brands targets were too inexperienced.
