Four will happen with contracts expiring.

Holgate may be sellable.

Iwobi and Gbamin will remain at least another season. No one will buybthem Righ5Right now.
Who's gonna buy Holgate on 64 grand a week?, he had the chance to move out in the summer to either Brighton or Norwich but turned them down, doubt he will get a chance of a Prem club now and unless he prepared to drop to 20 grand a week no Championship side could afford him

Viva la Eastern European Toffees. Would love to hear the Park End da's try and call him out for being guff - must sign this kid.

Been rumoured to be in for him for a while haven’t we?

Be a good signing I think.

Good player this kid, we were linked last summer under Ancelotti when I told him about him in a coffee drive thru.

Known as Kev to his mates.

Lad's obviously got talent but he seems to like being on the left flank, shifting onto his right and shooting - which is what we have Demari Gray for. So where would he play? Reckon this is just agent talk tbh.

From when we were linked before I remember he plays on the left, centre and on the right as well.

Not the quickest and looked like he may be best in the 10 position.

Bissouma under investigation for sexual assault mate. Stay clear. Great player but he won't be getting signed by anyone for a while.

Kamara is the one we should be going for IMO. Out of contract at the end of the season at Marseille, natural holding player so would free up Allan to push on and we could actually play 433 (or a variation of) properly. May have had an injury this season mind, not 100% sure/

I believe ive been saying this for 2 ish seasons now.

Now is the perfect time to get him as well as he'd go for under €10mil...or we land him on a pre-contract.

In other news, Dumfries just scored his first goal for Inter.

I reckon they loan him in Jan.

I know nothing about Mykolenko, I hadn't even heard of him before so I can't say if he would be a good or bad signing.

But, I can say that in my opinion the left side of our defence has been better in the last three games with Godfrey than it was previously with Digne

That is not an argument to sell the player because they all go through bad patches and Digne has been going through one imo for nearly twelve months.
Up to Christmas last year he had a purple patch with JR but I thought his form fell off a cliff after Christmas.

To me, this looks really good:

LB: Digne* / Mykolenko
LCB: Godfrey / Branthwaite
LW: Gray / Gordon

When compared with the right side of:

RB: Coleman / Kenny
RCB: Keane / Holgate
RW: Townsend / Iwobi

*We seem to be selling Digne to swap with Iwobi. 3 positions filled with young quick players.

Thats Tsyganov, hes their best player and a star for the national team.

Why? Good player and very highly rated.

As i posted yesterday, theres not many quality u23 left backs available...plenty of right backs funnily enough.

As @jazzy just highlighted i was wrong with my last comment on this.

We signed Digne for £18mil and he played roughly 3 seasons for us before extending his deal.

So £18mil ÷ 5 (his contract) = £3.6mil
£3.6mil × 2 (years remaining) = £7.2mil.

He then signed a 4 year extension so the £7.2mil ÷ 4 (length of contract) = £1.8mil.

Lets call it 3.5 years left (as i cant be bothered to calculate too much as he extended mid season) which would be £6.3mil.

So, if we sell Digne for £25mil we cover the £6.3mil = £18.7mil.

We can spend that amount all in January. This means we can sign players and spread the fee over the length of the players contract.

In theory we could sign players totalling £18.7mil × 5 = £93.5mil

The only caveat here is that for the next 4 summers we would continue to pay £18.7mil a summer after the first payment of £18.7mil.

One other thing, his wages will have increased with the new contract, i wouldnt be surprised if they were close to £100k. They will be gone and free up space in the wage budget.

So, do we sell Digne and then immediately invest £93.5mil payable in £18.7mil installments over the next 5 years?

Bear in mind he will be gone as well as Tosun, Kenny, Sigurdsson, Lonergan and Delph in the summer which would be around £400k a week wages or another £20.8mil.

Sell Digne, sign Mykolenko and still have around £75mil to play with in Jan + the saving on wage difference.

I suspect we could sign four starting players with that money...

Left back: Mykolenko
Right back: Patterson /Aarons / Ramsay
Defensive Midfield: Kamara
Right Wing: Antony

I suspect we'd have cash left over to add to any proceeds from a Mina sale.
Good math for those that don't understand how all of this works.

The catch with the plan is that this is how a club ends up skint like Barca and Juve if the signings don't pan out into some sell-ons, though we can always kick the can down the road further by passing deadwood back and forth with the Geordies the way Barca and Juve did. Lord knows we, and the horsepunchers, have plenty of dross on our rosters.

Well, if we did sell Digne and if we do have the £90mil+ i suggested to spend under FFP from selling.

Those numbers are covered from the outgoings of Digne, Sigurdsson, Delph, Tosun, Kenny.

So we would actually be pretty much balanced out from next summer onwards.

The positive is one person has control. The negative is that the person in control might not be in a job in a year's time and will most likely buy for a system that won't be in place long term either.
Maybe but one thing is for sure, this window will either get him the sack or next season IMO, we know its on him, so he has to deliver

Just waiting on longstaff now

The geordie Tom Davies
He’s genuinely not even that good , he’s more like the Geordie Baningame.

Interesting point, these days i also wonder about the Iwobi deal and Moshiri going back to his old club to buy him over priced, thats an odd one
Moshiri with his interference in football matters and poor decision making in general have got us into this mess and maybe his real world boss feels he has to help him out by brokering some deals at favourable rates using his considerable influence on his home turf.
