From the red echo, the following are being sought to be offloaded in winter and there’s some mind boggling (estimated) wages to be freed up if they all go
Tosun £75k
Delph £90k
Kenny £20k
Digne = £120k
JPG = £75k (loan)

Exc Digne equals £260k / week for squad fillers who on the whole don’t get a sniff of 1st team action. Surely we can attract a RB & CMF who are first choice with that sort of money sloshing around, even if only on loan for now.

I think its clear that the Mykolenko deal was done in the knowledge Digne wont play for us again, being we havent done any other deals I think that shows we arent selling anyone else, no one to replace. A little disappointed by that TBH as it is clear we need reinforcements, as Everton always do if we do any significant deals it will be much much later in the window OR last day.

The window isn't open yet , also RB has said we will be adding 2-3 players . Digne was dome early as they both fell out , and maybe RB thought that Digne doesn't fit his style , so very good time to sell given his age etc etc ... I can see another outgoing, maybe Mina and Kenny

Summer iirc, no chance he’s going to another club before then of course. Be interesting to see if it becomes public knowledge if he’s being paid still and what becomes of any monies paid out since his arrest should he be found guilty of a crime. I would hope he can be sued / forced to pay it back from the date of arrest.

I think Keane will be here for at least the next season. There's no quick fix of selling 10+ players and buying 10+ players. It will be a gradual process.

Very much doubt he’s not getting anything paid to him. Not been found guilty of anything and being arrested isn’t sufficient cause to withhold his reputed £120k / week.
If it’s made up of appearance money etc no doubt parts can be withheld, but I’d be very surprised if he’s not getting most of it.

We`ve missed the boat but my preferred 1st choice CB would be partnering Godfrey with someone like Fikayo Tomori, both young, athletic, aggreessive and with obscene pace for CBs.

Nice thought.

What's been fairly clear so far when I've seen Godfrey play centre half is that he isn't good enough in the air and that he switches off occasionally ( interestingly he doesn't do this at left back although he is found wanting positional, which is to be expected as he is neither a full back or left footed).

So Godfrey is still a work in progress a very useful utility defender.

Personally I think we need two new starting centre halves and at least one of them has to be commanding in the air.

Only issue with that is that Tomori is about 5’11 and with Godfrey being around 6ft and not the best in the air we’d get targeted with crosses and set pieces. Tomori would of been a decent alternative when we bought Godfrey but not an ideal CB partner.

I'd have liked to have seen Godfrey + Holgate in a high line last season but the snag is that Digne and Coleman arent as fast as them and so we'd most likely be outnumbered with a ball over the top.

With Mykolenko and a quick right back we could do actually line up higher with Branthwaite and Godfrey.

On paper its a possibility in a season or two.

I may be wrong but I think if he was going to be charged at all it would have happened by now ?

Will be sat with the CPS awaiting a charging decision so could go either way at this point. Has taken a daft amount of time like.

Yes it's taking a while to gather evidence, if he totally not guilty it must be horrible as it's the worst thing a bloke could be charged with and probably ruined his marriage and career obviously if he guilty they should throw the book at him.
