PSG have Bernat (once linked to us) along with potential superstar Nuno Mendes on loan (with a buy option) so theyre not desperate for him.

For £30mil they may just sign Digne and have him rotate in/out with Mendes to help them in the short term.
A lot of clubs will be "using" Newcastle in the windows giving them hope of signing players they`ve got no chance of signing to drive prices up...

I'd happily 'use' Newcastle to take Keane and Holgate for a £30mil premium...to go with Digne and Mina's £50mil elsewhere.

Bring in Mykolenko, Patterson, Ramsay and a centre back (or two) to rebuld the defence.

We'd still be way up due to the FFP format and ready for summer midfield improvements.

Me too, probably similar to what we experienced when it was known we had money, we just preferred to pick turgid footballers

That would be a magnificent January window for us at this early stage of a clearout/rebuild.
