Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

So in reality they have only lifted the ban they put in place to stop Newcastle breaching fair & market rates rules.
Still would have to be sanctioned by the league.

Nothing has changed.

They are allowing clubs to sponsor themselves. Good luck to the PL if they think they can set market value. They know that they can't, and they won't be subjecting themselves to legal challenges that they are guaranteed to lose. This is a PL that allowed Everton to have a related party pay £30 million to be at the front of a non-existent queue for a non-existent stadium. They don't care. Nor should they. The top clubs have been able to spend whatever they wish to for centuries.

And?

Saying someone isn't good enough to be in our starting 11 isn't not giving them a chance - Townsend himself said he was coming here as largely a squad player doesn't mean Im gonna moan that he signed.

I also said Rondon would be coming in as cover only.

Longstaff wouldn't be in our starting 11 either realistically - doesn't mean he's turd.

I’m pretty sure saying a player isn’t good enough to start for Everton, before he’s played for Everton, is the definition of not giving someone a chance.

Ive read them both now mate ( thanks btw).
Still nothing has changed , it was to do with clubs worrying about Newcastle.

If USM want to plough money in through the stadium ( as long as its not ridiculous) they will do.
Cant see why they havent up to now tbh.

Its all relative - Sean Longstaff on a free transfer and 50k wages is infinitely cheaper than **insert CM name here** signed for £10-20 million on 50k a week wages.

You're still missing the crux of the issue that the club have posted massive losses due to the last 2 DOF's wasting millions upon millions therefore we have to wheel and deal to avoid FFP trouble which inevitably means the odd non inspiring signing like Townsend and Longstaff coming in to plug holes in the squad.

Crying about it and hammering the player before he even signs/kicks a ball for us is scandalous behaviour imo.
Honestly, do you even know what you are going on about? Longstaff is cheaper than a 20m player so we should sign him? It doesn't make sense. Regardless if his transfer fee is £0, £10m or £20m he's still a very poor player that doesn't start in a team who have won one game half way throurg a season.

We are in "trouble" with ffp because we have overspent on dross, we don't have to wheel and deal we have to stop making stupid mistakes or spending money every transfer window on terrible players that don't improve our team.

Longstaff wouldn't be in our starting 11 either realistically - doesn't mean he's turd.
Well if you can't get in our starting midfield then you are absolutely turd

Madness. You bleat incessantly about the team not being good enough but call for a signing you say yourself wouldn’t make the first 11.

You also wistfully talk of relegation and big days out for the playoffs at Wembley.

Doesn’t take a genius this.

If we cant afford to spend a fee on a CM and we need a CM then it does make sense to sign one on a free transfer.

Just because you dont rate the player doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.
