No I don't think he's better than Delph, not at all.

Better than gbamin? Maybe but he's useless as well, you don't run a football club in which you sign players just because you think they are better than your worst players.

Its not about cheap or expensive. Its about good or bad.

We need more good and less bad players. If someone cannot improve our current team then they cant be all that good because we are crap, so they should not be signed.

How do you sign 5-6 good top 7 quality players for pennies though?

Its much much easier said than done and peoples expectations will have to drop.

For every £15-20 million signing like the Ukranian LB you'll be getting a freebie like Townsend/Longstaff and hopefully they offer something to the squad.

I'm not asking top quality. No one said top quality other than you.

I just want good dependable top flight players with a bit of quality who will make us better.

I won't drop my expectations either. We need to be challenging for Europe soon. Although you don't need huge quality to do that.

The idea of signing Patterson when a far better prospect in Ramsay is available for half the price is hilarious. Peak Everton.

As someone who watches the SPFL regularly Ramsay is by far the biggest Scottish talent in it.

Patterson can’t only not get a game of a player who can’t defend in Tavernier, he isn’t even trusted enough for him to be rested against any half decent team. His only minutes are coming as part of a front 3 when games are dead…

I actually rate Patterson but he’s absolutely miles off what an Everton player should be or will ever be. Him and Doig get hype in the media up here because they’re tall and can run but the two best young fullbacks are Ramsay and Hickey, by miles.

I posted about a week ago that I thought we may just bring in Hickey and Patterson with Ramsay as the rotation option for both positions.

Looks like its Mykolenko incoming (more athletic/quick than Hickey) along with Patterson.

How much do you think Ramsay goes for, £5mil?

Should sign him as well, keep him on loan st Aberdeen for the rest of the season and bring him over in the summer.

Strange weve splurged £18mil odd on Mykolenko within a week of Benitez falling out with Digne...

...but still not sorted a right back.

Agreed. For the stupid wages Longstaff would ask for, why wouldnt we try for Kessie, Kamara or Zakaria (in that order)...Delphs outgoing wages cover the cost for two of them.

I do - and 3-4 signings of good quality will be mimimum £50+ million which we haven't got.

You're talking £10+ million for Rangers 2nd choice RB and £20 million for a lad from the Ukranian farmer league.

Therefore moaning about then signing a freebie like Longstaff because we dont have another £10-20 million for a CM due to FFP is tantrum throwing imo.

That’s why you need a manager who is going to manage and coach what he has at his disposal and get the most out of them.

He has been shocking for us, total waste of money, as will longstaff be.
