We had wages off the books in the summer as well, Walcott, Bolasie - yet we were told we were in breach then?

Also, 'expecting' something to happen and 'having a plan' are one thing, we dont actually know what will happen.

The reports regarding Digne suggest we are holding out hope that newcastle save our bacon, they may, however they may not and we could be left looking at a loan out.

At the moment the facts are we've spent 23m on a player, with the manager clearly stating more to come in.

End of conversation.

But walcott and bolasie wages were already taken into accounting our financial situation as the were 100% leaving. James and kean would of been a different matter as until ancelotti left james was staying and kean looked like he was staying till the last few days of the window. Its a completely different situation.

Where are these reports? That we are desperate? Are they being reported by anyone with a history of being right about stuff or is it just paper talk putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5?

According to Joyce we've spent £17 including add ons. So say that £15m, you use amortisation over the course of his contract thats of around £3-5m spent so far by the looks of it.

I do believe you're right in the fact that we'll probably bring in more players and their fees may on the face of it look like we've spent £40m in this transfer window but on the actually accounts we'll of probably spent less then £15m which will be already available to the manager.

Cant we get in there for a loanwith option to buy deal for Trippier?

He'll be off to fill his pockets in the North East mate.

Would love him here though good player.

If we do sign the RB from Rangers it would have been ideal having someone like Trippier to be the main man with the young kid slowly start to succeed him 6-12 months down the line.

Most of that is fair, all I would say this window smacks a little bit of panic by the board, who wouldnt be splashing the cash, in my opinion, if we were in a comfortable position in the league.

I'm hoping that in a way it at least acknowledges that things arent right and need changing.

Let's wait and see on Digne, but I am sure you would admit our recent transfer outgoing business has been terrible in terms of money recouped.

Would love Trippier here. Newcastle are getting relegated regardless so he should really be thinking that’s not the best move for him.
We’d get 2 good seasons out of him.
