He was signed as a squad player and didn’t expect to be playing every game. Injuries have meant he had had to play.

However, if we hadn’t signed him we would be really screwed now. Beggars can’t be choosers. If you don’t have a transfer budget you can’t be too selective.

He a decent keeper, brilliant shot stopper but not the best on the line and his kicking pretty poor. this season he had to play as Sweeper too as The Manager favours playing such a high line.

Townsend seems to work hard up and down the flank

When DCL returns, I think/hope his assists will increase to a good level.

I think there’s no doubt DCL’s injury has hampered Townsend. He’ll be less likely to swing a ball in for a Rondon who’s still scampering out of the centre circle than a fit DCL breaking into the box.

When Davies scored a goal earlier in the season from close to the goal, Rondon hadn't even been able to catch up the play to be in view of the camera.

If you want to put a ball on Rondon's head, you'd need a back pass.

He’s had target men to aim at all his life, we have other issues in the team, but Townsend can’t be a regular or we will get nowhere. Gordon should be ahead him imo and he’s not ready yet to be a regular
 
I'm not disputing that I was answering the original post that he been no good anywhere but Everton when he clearly did some good at West Brom, sure if they had a rich Sugar Daddy instead of a tight [Poor language removed] they would have bought him off Chelsea.

Regular, no maybe not, off the bench full of energy, yes please

I like Gordon, hope he can get his goal soon
