The need to recruit has never been more urgent. Half of the squad is championship standard. If Doucoure gets injured again, we will be looking at Delph and Davies to come in during the middle of a relegation battle.

I don’t disagree. The entire side has been looking like relegation fodder for most of the season. Still, I think I’d rather have Doucoure than Davies. Benitez is setting up the whole side to lose tho.

Oh yes of course I agree, but when he’s our best midfielder, that’s a problem right there.

This is probably 50/50 this thread and the Benitez thread.

We sack him now (which I want) what happens to the 17 million pound LB he’s just brought in?

What happens to the other players supposedly close to joining?

If they are Benitez targets, it leaves the next manager potentially not liking them?

Or, we wait on any transfers for a new manager, by which point the window is shut.

It’s a bloody mess.
