In fairness, I think that Tavernier is their captain? Probably plays a part in why he's favoured.

Makes sense given he’ll come here and be understudy to Coleman well into his forties.

We’ve had one world class manager in my memory of supporting Everton for 20 years + and that was Carlo.

Please do not refer to Benitez as world class. He chose to play that set up today and has failed, despite ample preparation time to have his players clear on their job. That was as obvious as it’s ever been today. Players had no idea of what to do apart from the instruction of lump it.

We're finally signing a permanent RB let's just be happy about that.

You doubt “outdated” and yet he hasn’t done anything of note in nearly 8yrs.

So your stance is that until he has a team FULL of his players we shouldn't be critical of having 19 points pretty much halfway in to a season?

If it's true, we're on course to have spent £29m on a very inexperienced pair of full-backs when we're supposedly trying to be better with money.

I am happy with getting a RB in. I hope he hits the ground running and we're sorted for years to come.

Well until we both get a proper look at them both it's too early to say too much money or if it's a bargain. I'm just happy we're hitting the positions we need, the ages we need & early in the window.

True but £12-16m with that amount of experience is a big gamble

Well we didn't actually need a LB did we until the man baby arrived.

But yeah, both are positive acquisitions but are going to need time.
