Would love to buy a midfielder who knows how to stand in the right spot sometimes. A proper Gareth Barry but maybe 22 instead of 32. I'm tired of watching our guys just run and run without knowing when it is better to just be in a spot.

We really need another midfielder or two. We need everything else as well but our lack of ability to control the game starts with our lack of ability to win in midfield.

Mykolenko and Patterson seem to be two of the most highly rated young full backs in Europe.

Nkounkou back in summer as backup left back and lets see if Reece Welch is good enough to be 4th choice centre back.

Coleman, Kenny, Mina, Holgate and Keane should all be sold pronto to release funds for a new centre back, a second right back and a young keeper.


Aside from defence, we really need that defensive midfielder. Gomes, Davies, Delph, Gbamin, Iwobi and perhaps also Allan need to be moved on to move on someone with similar profile to Patterson/Mykolenko.

That defence would definately get us relegated.

Benitez can sign all the players that he wants but if he persists in playing Allan and Doucoure as a midfield 2 we are doomed

Come on Zat , I know you like a youngster but even you must know that a defence with no PL experience will get taken to the cleaners.

The 2 new full backs may well turn out to be very good players but no one , not even you with your crystal ball has any idea how they will adapt to the PL.

Branthwaite is an excellent prospect , but that's it a prospect . Play him in every game sure if he has an experienced partner but you are suggesting pairing him with Godfrey who has looked decent at full back but as bad as Keane and Holgate at CB.

And no saying that the current defence is crap is not an argument.

What is needed is commanding centre half who knows the PL and a 3 man midfield with a proper DM sitting in front of the back 4.

Then you might get away with 2 young , hopefully progressive full backs.

Add Tosun to that list
