Let’s agree to disagree. There was times he was excellent, mainly at left back as I’ve already stated.

There’s definitely a player there based on that.

Back on topic tho if Patterson went to some other Premier league team and was boss. Are fans would be moaning saying why didn’t we get him while he was at Rangers.

I finally think we are doing the right thing as a club backing potential to be actually good is better than buying experienced average players. We then get stuck with and no one wants. At least the young players we have bought that haven’t worked out we have still got something back on them. Like lookman vlasic even Onyekuru.

Godfrey was great last season with a decent manager who knew how to organise a defence.
His best performances were probably at LB to be fair, but I’d like to see him alongside a commanding centre half.

That could have been Mina, but as we all know he’s made of straw with a marshmallow heart and is simply playing at being a professional footballer.

I'd like to see him alongside a great CB so it can hide that he's not a great CB isn't ideal I'd say

We need a player capable of taking a corner and scoring a goal. Our lack of goal threat is frightening.

We had two creative players who can create chances or score - James and Lucas Digne, Benitez didn't like either of them.

We have to be in for a ball playing midfielder this window. He cannot keep on with just Allan and the duke in the middle getting over whelmed every match.

We could also use a defensive midfielder who can actually position themselves somewhere. It's amazing to think our best midfield partnership is both bad on the ball and positionally. All they have is that they run a lot which allows Allan to get tackles in and Doucoure to get in the box for some stuff. That's about the extent of what we get.

Plus we always have to cast the vote Feb/March and that was when Holgate had his good run of about 10 games if we could vote end of season I doubt he would have won it and DCL probably would have

I’m all for signing two good attacking full backs to give us balance and more threat. Hopefully more control on games too.

But, Patterson being the attacking full back he is, leaving Keane on his own scares the crap out of me

Does this mean that's 2 signings made with Benitez under complete control that we were after before Benitez arrived? Is he really under complete control then or just spending so much time practicing corners that he can't be arsed scouting?
